My 97 deville has been draining the battery the last few days. I replaced the old bat. but still a problem. When the car is turned off and the key removed the radio still plays and the windows are powered after the dooe is opened. If I pull the 30 A fuse from under the hood for wipers / acc. relay the problem stops but now I have no wipers. Anyone have any ideas.
dont quote me, but i think thats a feature called RAP
which stands for Retain Accessory power.. supposed to let you use windows and such up to ten minutes after you shut your car off.. since you replaced the battery, has your battery still been draining.. might be the alternator
Thanks for the reply. Altenator is ok. put a charger on the battery last night to bring it to full charge and let it sit for ten hours with that 30A fuse pulled and no drop. Still 13 volts. What is the RAP you mentioned, where is it and how do I get to it? Sounds like it may be a relay module.
