You may be able to get a new turn signal switch at a junkyard real cheap.....

Junk yard switches are NOT a good idea. The original switches on those cars were not a great design and the later replacement parts were better quality. On top of that, the R&R procedure is rather lengthy so I'd tend to want to make sure the switch I'm putting in actually works.
