    1996 Seville SLS, Duel Zone A/C - cold/hot

    Hi Guys!
I hope that someone can help.
With A/c on, drivers side vents (and rear seat), blow cold, the passenger side vents blow HOT.
I pulled the passenger under dash pannel off and looked for anything obvious.
I cycled the system from A/C to heat and rotated vent positions to check for vent door movements and to indicate a vacuum leak.

All seems to check out OK.

What controls the duel zone system?

    Can anyone help?

PS the car sat for 2 years. I bought it in April from the estate of an elderly women with 36000 miles on it.

Low refrigerant light was on, Compressor would not run. I added 2 lbs of refrigerant (via gravity feed), disconnected the battery to clear the code, and the A/C compressor took off.

Now, constant heat from passenger vents.
    I appreciate your help.

I have the same (though intermitent) problem with my '97 Deville. I have not been able to find a cause but I have found a simple fix. I simply run the temp up to 90 then back down to 72 or whatever and it opperates normally from then on. Hope this helps.

Either a short or the Temparture Door Actuator Motor under the glove box needs to be replaced. Your lucky, if it was the driver side, it would be big $$$ Hope this helps.

I broke down and took it to the dealer.

Temp door Actuator and the compressor was bad.

    Thank God for extended warranties!

    $1500 for ice cold air!
