    Question STOP ENGINE,ENGINE OVERHEAT- but not overheated

    have 1994 cadillac deville just got heater blower motor replaced had no signal come on before took in to shop, after picked up turned car on and now reads stop engine engine overheat when car has not even driven and is not hot whatsoever also in colorado in 20 degree weather, do you have any ideas what this might be?????

    That light comes on if the key is in the ignition, engine off, and the driver door is opened. If its on, engine running, then the engine temp switch sender or wire to it is grounded. Put the year and type of Cad you own in your profile signature. That way you dont have to type it in every time you post.

    Hello ! I have the same problems with overheating lamp by not running engine. When i,m drive computer try to switch engine off from time to time. Temp sensor new one ! Please help me to repair this !
