no spark

93 deville 4.9 just died while at idle. Restarted for about 5 sec. then died again ,will not start. I checked codes e31 (map sensor) replaced map and lost the code,but still no start .I checked fuel pump and fuel preasure all ok .Then I checked for spark and have no spark.Could it be a ignition module?If so where could I locate it?

If you remove the distributor cap, you will see a crescent shaped part about 3" long, about 1" wide, and about 1/4" thick with connectors at both ends. That is the module. Some parts stores can test these so you'll know if it's bad before you buy a new one. Mine failed in exactly that manner. Make sure you use the included dielectric grease under the new module if it turns out the old one is defective. If it is not you will need to put a film of grease under the old one when you reinstall.
