    OnStar helps police in Atlanta

It has reported on TV stations in the Atlanta area that OnStar helped police find a vehicle that was car-jacked.

OnStar directed police to a residence where the stolen vehicle had been taken, but police were unable to locate it because it had been hidden inside a garage. The OnStar operator then activated the vehicle's alarm system, which officers heard and located. The SWAT team came in an apprehended two of the car-jackers.

In this instance, ONSTAR was the hero - but there are alot of other, more insidious activities that ONSTAR could be used for. Like most things, there is good with the bad.
