It's like a sickness.
See, thats what I'm talking about. My cousin is the same way. He just bought a pretty big house (3500 sq ft), 2 new cars costing over $30k each and he did it all with 100% financing. He actually did an 80/20 loan on the house with prepayment penalties and 7 year arm loan. I think he's f'ing crazy. Its just him and his fiancee what does he need 5 bedrooms for?. What good is all that when you constantly have to stress about the payments?. I'd rather live in a smaller home and drive older payed off cars than be in that stressful situation. My cars are all older. Between the wife and I we drive a '91 Fleetwood Brougham, '98 Deville, and a '97 Mercedes S320. They are not new but they are paid for. A lot of people I know are just not prepared to deal with an emergency which would mean time out from work. Miss a few payments on the house or cars and its lights out man.

Sounds like your cousin and my compadre may be the same guy. Another problem this guy has is he has paid himself ZERO dollars in the 2 years he's been out working. So in addition to being in the highest tax bracket, he's not putting any pre-tax money away. Not smart.

mean a cashiers check for the amount of my home. Not a briefcase stuffed with the cash. 05-02-06 09:11 PM
I liked the image of you toting a black bag filled with small unmarked bills. Very Soprano.
The above post is my 2 cents....nothing more.

What does your house look like?

This is my first big boy house. I used have a condo in Philly a block away from the Liberty Bell, but then I got married and moved to Texas. I guess we all have to grow up.

Thank you. I couldn't leave the car in the driveway. The Caddy needs to be front and center.

Thank you. One of the great things about living in Austin is the cost of real estate. You dollar goes a lot farther down here that it did back on the East Coast.

You can say that again. I live in Cali, and seeing all of these beautiful houses twice the size of mine, that cost close to what mine does, makes me sick
