NO it isn't. That 1998 data I'm guess you got from that site that everyone always goes to... http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html . If that's the case, the times are way off. My 1998 STS run a 14.8 easily, and with traction can break into the 14.7 range. The Deville with always be a little slower, because it is bigger, and heavier. Not by much, but enough.
According to Edmunds, there's only a 20 lb. difference in curb weight between an STS and a DTS. Figure every 100 lbs. is 1/10 of a second in the 1/4 and you'd find that there is no discernable difference in performance between the two. It's a driver's race, which is why you'll find some reviews with the STS quicker and some with the DTS quicker.
If anyone in NJ with an STS wants to settle it in real life I'll be taking my DTS to Island as soon as the weather gets warm (no, not this freakish 60-degrees-in-January type warm - when Spring rolls around).

Re: Deville faster then an seville
^^Most 1/4 mile ETs are just recycled info from one source anyway. Point is, the DTS shouldn't be any faster than an STS, and magazine times are pretty much useless unless you're trying to determine if a Z06 is faster than an 83 Fleetwood...
