    Your favorite comedy movie . . . .

For me it would have to be Serial Mom, a John Hughes film circa 1994ish. Its about a "leave it to beaver" type of house mom that turns out to be a total psychopathic killer.

First saw this "dark comedy" back around 1997 when I was 12 or 13. I saw a few minutes of it on HBO one night around 10:00, then I had to go to bed. A few weeks later, I had a friend sleeping over, it was a rerun on at 12:00 midnight, never did we laugh so hard at gratuitous violence and gore. Especially at that scene where she stabs that guy taking a piss in the urinal with a fire poker, then tries to wipe the gore off her shoe lol.

A few years later, when I was about 20 and actually bought the DVD, this became my favorite scene . . .

I find myself consistently liking Mel Brooks comedies the most. Even the ones that aren't promoted as MB movies, like 'Get Smart'.

Any of the old Lavender Hill Mob stuff. Some of the Terry Thomas stuff. Jack Lemmon, Peter Falk ("The Great Race"), Road Runner. The Belles of St.Trinians.

99.9% of what passes for "comedy" now is pure unadulterated common filth.

Yes, Mel Brooks' "Men In Tights" was a hoot.

    I agree... Most is.

Funny is when it's still funny 20 years later. Some comedy I watch once and laugh and second time think wth was I thinking.
I can do Laurel and Hardy up to Joe Dirt, but don't care for raunchy comedians. Too easy to go for the shock factor.

The "In-Laws" with Alan Arkin and Peter Falk. (Not the crappy remake.)

I really liked Jim Carey when I was younger. Ace Ventura, and Dumb And Dumber were a couple of favorites. I watched Austin powers a lot too. On the other end of the spectrum, Arsenic And Old Lace, Bringing Up Baby, and Catch That Ghost.

Not movies, but good comedy specials on DVD, most of George Carlins' stuff is hilarious!

Anything with Lesley Neilson, Airplane would be on top then the Naked Gun from the files of police squad series still makes me laugh

..."Mr. president, when did you last have corn?"

To this day, I still chuckle over that scene

I don't like everything that Bill Murray did, but Groundhog Day and What About Bob? are 2 of my favorites.

"A Day at the Races", with the Marx brothers.

"Rafferty and the Gold Dust Twins", Alan Arkin.

"The Flim Flam Man", George C. Scott.
    Don't mess with Binky Bear!
