    Good gravy.

If this thing has 707 horsepower... what the hell will they do with the next Viper?

And they say the horsepower wars are over! Hogwash.

I love the V-8 engine roar from the back of the car and supercharger's whine/air induction noise from the front! It is intoxicating!

Re: Anybody else REALLY want the new Challenger SRT Hellcat?

I am going to argue that C7 and Challenger Hellcat are very different cars. C7 can be considered as a sports car and its handling is superb, whereas this thing is a pure American muscle car. Different cars for different tastes.

I think you might like Alfa Romeo 4C! Chrysler is presenting 2015 Hellcat and 2015 4C side by side in its exhibitions. One is a European style sports car, and the other is an all American muscle car. I love them both.

And saleen is working on the new mustang.

I was actually thinking on going that route with my V, but there is just too much horsepower on the showroom floors, not enough competent drivers, and a crowded area, where housewives text on their cellphones, while driving their grocery getter M5.

Let the hellcat have it's day. I might have to eventually drive one as one of my first cars ( actually my third while a senior ) Was a '70 challanger with a vinyl top, column mounted auto and a 440 mag under the hood. Horrible traction, but always a show, if you can afford the tires!

And the new mustang with the 2.3l puts out 305 hp?...so many choices

Kind of insane how the horsepower wars have heated up. Yet I can't help but think how much faster these cars would be if they weighed the 3300lbs like my old 1999 Z28 Camaro. That thing, with a muffler, different air intake box, and a higher stall speed torque converter made 305rwhp. It was/still is stupid fast, with a drag radial it ran a 12.7@107mph. $800 in mods chopped over half a second off the et lol.

Granted all these newer Shelby Cobras, ZL1 Camaros, SRT Chrysler products would slightly pull on that car or straight blow its doors off. I'm just saying its kind of silly that I was making 50-75 hp less than a new Camaro SS or Mustang GT 10 years ago and running similar times.

I'd still take a new Corvette over the 707hp Challenger, but only if I had to choose. I'd buy both if I were stupid rich lol

Weight and tire width are the enemy on this one. Still a very cool car regardless.

I have seen MSRP rumors from $55k to $70k... good enough to compete with the ZL1/GT500. We will see how much dealer markup will be.
