Under $30K?! Not giving us much to work with, are you?

As a DD? Can't really think of anything. Guess I could drive an Accord with a manual. The Sport is under $30 I think.

For fun? Maybe a BRZ (Subaru version)? Fun to drive at legal speeds, small tires that allow you to get sideways fairly easily... Works for me.

Edit: An Accord sport is under $24K. An EX is under $25K. No manual available for the EX-L.

    If I could be forced into a coupe, I guess I'd get an EX-L V6 manual. But that's $30,625. Can I get a $625 allowance orrcon?

Might get more responses after auto show season is over...

I'm assuming we are talking NEW vehicles. I'd get a pickup. Based on what I've seen so far, I'd pick the Ram. If we get a small allowance, add the V6 diesel.

I was looking at the Chevy pickup but I was not impressed with the looks of it. I will need to look a little closer at the Ram.

Car - a Hyundai Sonata upscale engine and trim level.

Truck - a slightly used Ford F-250 Super Cab large engine. Diesel comes precariously close to the $30K mark. (Real trucks don't have spark plugs.)

Hmm. I believe a Ram Express 4x4 single cab is below $30,000

Though car prices are rising, you can still get a hell of a lot for 30k. I'd get a base Chrysler 300.

For $29040 you get a 31mpg 3.6 V6, 8-speed auto, power seats, UConnect, heated power mirrors, keyless go, automatic headlights, bluetooth, voice control, power heated seats, leather steering wheel, leather trimmed seats, lumbar adjustment, tilt/telescope, automatic dual zone climate control, and cruise control.

It's pretty nicely packed for the price.

You know, I could also get a Mustang V-6 with a manual and buy the performance package for under $30k

I'd go for a Accord Sport or a Buick Verano most likely.

    New?

Chevy Sonic maybe a base pickup.

BUT, going off the title of the thread

    From my brief internet searches....

    2007 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ
    Extended Cab
    Victory Red Exterior
    Light Cashmere Leather Interior
    4 wheel Drive
    6.0L Vortec V8, 366 hp
20k-100k miles, depending on the region of the United States

Did I mention I want a Chevy Silverado after I graduate as my second vehicle?

Dodge Challenger, but you can only get the V6 and stay under $30k.

VW GTI is great bang for your buck. They've been improving on it for 30 years.

Re: What car would you choose today priced below $30,000?

For a new car I'd go Subaru given where I live and 4x4 is all but essential however for a truck I would second Sub with the used Ford SD pickup (I have a 4x4 F150 currently in stasis pending possible revival)

A Chrysler 200 convertible, a base 300, maybe an optioned Kia Optima, a few things that come to mind... But realistically if I had $30k to throw into a new car, it wouldn't be new. It'd be a nice used Cadillac or something.
