When urbanski was admin he used to add them. Since he has left, none of the other admins have stepped up to add anymore.

Dropping the wreath from the Cadillac logo?

Who came up with the tasteless idea of dropping the iconic wreath from the 2015 2015 Cadillac logo? It is equivalent to Mercedes dropping the circle from around the star in it's logo!

Just when you think it could never happen… it does! Shame on you GM!

    BRING THE WREATH BACK!

I never thought of it like that. And neither did Hitler. Instead of killing himself, he should have just shaved the mustache and applied for a Nobel peace prize.

The should go retro 1959 and add the V. The Logo is very similar to this design anyway.

    I'm Partial to the V

Yeah, the wreath is what kept people from buying Cadillacs.

Get rid of that and all will be fine.....

Typical "corporate think" worry about the package, not the product!

    NEW! Now with less wreath!

^^^ Seemed to work for Ford when they got rid of the 500 name for their new model and reused the Taurus name!

Personally I like the old duck and crown bedecked done in cloisonne with or without the wreath or the V. Quality jewelry on a car goes a long way in denoting the car's status and quality.

Re: Outgoing vs new Cadillac emblem/badge

I sold both Fleetwoods this week. I didn't realize until now that the wreath around the crest is what made the brand unpopular, outdated, unreliable, and even worse made me look like an old fart. Once the new emblem is out, I will trade my STS in for a new CTS because damn it I'm not going to let that wreath ruin my life anymore! Folks will see me driving in a Cadillac without that medieval wreath and say "now there's a young, cool, sophisticated guy driving a modern Cadillac...he's not driving an old man car, no sir!" I will sleep easier knowing that in my garage sits a proper Cadillac with no lame wreath around that jumbo shield. I won't have to live with the shame anymore!

30 years from now, wreath or no wreath, your children and grandchildren will still call your Cadillac an “old people car” because you will be old. We all get older. Has nothing to do with the brand. There are multitudes of “old people” driving Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes, and of course Cadillac. The 80 year old up the street has a new ATS and the 26 year old two doors down has a DTS. Go figure. Drive your cars and enjoy them. Who gives a merry damn if someone thinks you drive an old man car? They are just pissed because they don’t own one.

It did, but the Taurus version also got updated styling a huge boost in power.

I like the shield. I also notice that on this forum, when Cadillac does anything new, the natural response is "we hates it!!". Eh.

That is almost the definition of "conservative." And yes there is a lot of that going around on the Forums!

As long as the market likes it, Cadillac is batting 1,000 right now.
