Sorry folks, but I like the new logo a lot. It fits a lot better to the cars and the era. There is no way that wreath is bound to the complete Cadillac history, so why whine about it. It looks derived from the wide 50's hood crest, so there is enough connection to the past.

The idea aout the V below the crest for the V-series is neat.

Agreed, the shield should not be naked. I'm thinking if they want to make it wider and squattier with the V, ie late 50's/early 60's Cadillacs that would be freaking awesome.

This new emblem is just screaming for the chrome V under it.

Also, I think the 2001+ "wreath and crest" were a bit vulgar looking in some applications, ie they were too big on the Escalade and facelifted STS.

Funny how all the German sedans they want to emulate all keep the same logo. When was the last time the tristar, propeller, or rings were changed?

It's called BRAND IDENTITY. Changing logos isn't going to help sales. Ask Chrysler...

I don't dislike the new crest, but I think it will quickly look dated, and it dates the vehicles. If I just bought a $70K CTS or XTS, or a $90K ESV -- and a year later the logo changed, dating my basically new car -- I'd be pissed.

I prefer the current wreath and crest, and like it GMT800 Escalade big...

I have a 99 Corvette and the Corvette boys and girls also have this ongoing which emblem do you like better discussion. Personally I like the outgoing one, but there have been others that are also really nice.

I kinda miss car emblems being on the hood myself. But that shows my age I suppose.

I never said that ALL Cadillacs did not have the wreath. I merely mentioned that it is nothing new. There are PLENTY of cars that have been made by Cadillac that feature wreathless emblems.

They haven't made a proper Cadillac since 1992.

I noticed the 2015 Escalade is keeping the Wreath (as far as I can tell including Cadillac's website) do you think some other models will keep it too like the the CTS, XTS, and the new flagship that's supposedly coming? Maybe they are using the new Emblem on the coupes/sporty Caddies?

My theory is the wreath isn't going anywhere it was just a negotiation threat to get a price reduction from the wreath makers.

The changes are just as regular, but very modest (like slight color changes or high lights and shadows, emossing). But again, how much can you change about those simple logos?

I am glad they are keeping the color in it. I don't like the way Buick's tri-shield logo has gone monochrome.

    Indeed.

I think the 2000 update that deleted the ducks — er, merlets — was needed to break away from Cadillac's then-image as an old fogey car. But this stretch and de-wreath looks cheap.

And Jim, I prefer the small-block version of the crossed flags that Chevy used from 1964-67 (which is what Betty has):

I agree, and have wondered who is (or was?) in charge of them, and why 2009 was the last time any were added!
