To me the new emblem looks as though I was looking at a picture of the old emblem on my phone/tablet with it oriented vertically, then after flipping the phone/tablet 90 degrees the re-orientation software glitched and stretched the picture in the y-axis. I think it looks silly.

I'm not a fan of either one but for different reasons. The '99+ looks too brutish...perfectly at home a 'slade but I didn't think it looked all that great on the rest. The new design isn't completely awful but it's awful without the wreath. Seeing it in pictures on the '15 ATS...it looks bland and Chevy-ish...like they forgot something. The masses may need to look twice to make sure.

Re: I sure miss that wreath!

No wreath, doesn't bother me. I say get rid of the shield altogether and bring back the Oldsmobile logo .... these cars hardly seem to be Cadillacs anymore ..... more like Gizmollacs (which spells Oldsmobile in GM-eese).

Lol, someone in another thread suggested that only "V's", would get V's.

With or without the V,nI like it much more than the new one.

And for the record, the birds are merlettes.

Even worse...it looks like the cheap plastic center that fell out of a knock-off.

I have always felt the out-going one looked like a crapo plastic one made to sell on JC Whitney to get around the copyright infringement laws.

Agreed. I think the main reason I like the new one at all is that it fits the style of the current cars better.

It looks bare. Needs a chrome V underneath to add dimension. Same way the Mercedes star is surrounded by a circle.

Re: Outgoing vs new Cadillac emblem/badge

I agree with the comments about using a modern version of the 1957. They have been using the V in the seatbacks so why not under the new emblem? If they were going to change, it would have made more sense to make the switch when the ATS was launched or on the '14 CTS. Changing up now seems like an afterthought from the good idea fairy. After test driving both the ATS and CTS earlier this week, I am planning to order a 2015 model. Now, I’m curious as to how they will look with the new emblem.

As I recall, Cadillac emblems without wreaths are nothing new...

Guess the OP has never seen a pre 2000 Cadillac.

We need more Cadillacs with the V. That needs to be brought back.

The 1902 (as in 98 years BEFORE 2000) had a wreath around the crest. I agree they lost their way at times. Guess you haven't seen enough Cadillacs.

Agreed (need this option in the poll).

I also think they should make this emblem from aluminum. Something about having a metal emblem would be cool to me, I would buy one and try to put it on my gen1 V.

Like they are advertising the new vette "if it looks like metal it is, if it looks like carbon fiber it is, if it looks like leather it is..."

Cadillac tried this before, on the 1970-1971 DeVilles. Crest only. No Wreath. No V. Note that it did not last.
