Friend of mine had one and he was throwing good money after bad. Nice looking car but riddled with issues (design flaws).

He finally sold it and bought a Mustang :shudder:

Had no real issues with mine but did have the issue with the targa top removed. The front and rear cross braces fixed it mostly. I also went through 4 front wheel bearings. I drove it like I stole it. Got real efficient and replacing them. Was more reliable then my CTS has been as far as stuff breaking. Could never get a good exhaust note out of it.

I don't even need to say the year because if you know anything about the corvette you will know what I'm talking about
It would have to be a split window vette

I'm assuming you two are being sarcastic, but I'll answer anyway. A '63 Vette has a split rear window.

Had one, an '87 CS coupe, red on red cloth. Like this, but without the black graphic on the side:

Because it was $500 and why not. It was actually a cool little car. 65K and in good shape.

I went to the beach once to get something to eat, and parked behind a (then) brand new C6 convertible. The Chevette got more looks than the Corvette. Sure they were for the wrong reasons, but it was hilarious to watch. The owner of the C6 sitting on the wall near the cars looked so depressed .

An idiot in a newer 3 series blew a stop sign one night and T boned me. The car spun more than 90 degrees. The B pillar was pushed in so far that it was touching the passengers seatback. Obviously, it was totaled...

I Own a C6 in atomic orange. Fantastic car and easily modded for more performance.
Each generation gets better than the prior version. If you are wanting one to drive, go new. If you want to be cool, go old.

I had a 76 just like that but Kermit Green! I popped a spotlight in the center of the roof and used it for pizza delivery. Was actually a good little beater. I enjoyed it.
