    The C7's have arrived!

Today, I saw my first C7 in person. I've been creeping on the local Chevy dealers for the last month or so, waiting for these to come in. To an automotive enthusiast, nothing is much more exciting than the release of an all new Corvette!

I happened to swing by the Chevy dealer closest to my home this afternoon and went into the showroom through the service department (sales people by and large ignore customers that they see come in through service ) and saw my first C7 in person, sitting in the service write-up area.

There's nothing like seeing your first all new Corvette. The car was worth the wait and all the build-up! It's much better looking in person, especially in the rear end. The new rear panel is such a dramatic change from the old style, it's extremely refreshing and a breath of fresh air.

This one was already sold, so I couldn't touch or sit in it, but I did happen to take a few pictures:

The interior looks exceptional. Way out of the typical Corvette league!

WOW! Had I not known, I am not sure I would have known that was a Vette. Did you happen to notice the MSRP?

Kind of surprised to see where they parked it. I would have been leery trying to straddle that thing for fear of tearing something off the bottom.

I saw my first one a few weeks ago in a darker red color at a nearby Chevrolet dealership. I didn't get out and look at it because of the crowd around it but it looked good from what I saw of it. I will say the white looks excellent... the red color I saw didn't showcase the features of the car that well.

Saw a dark grey Corvette yesterday in the parking garage at work. Must say it looks hotter/wilder than the Ferrari F12 and 599 GTB it was kind of styled after.

They had a red automatic on the dyno last week.

Would not surprise me. Most younger guys can't afford them.

I agree with Ranger, although around my neighborhood most new Corvettes are driven by older middle aged women! The young ones drive BMWs of various sizes and costs.

    Re: The C7's have arrived!

I have heard that all of the Vettes out of production are alreay spoken for. I am waiting to see what the new Z06 looks like (They may call it the Z07 for this platform).

Looks great in pictures, I would love to see one up close and personal.

That is the color combination and gear box I have been thinking about going with. I'll bet the Black wheels fit well on the white vette.

So what were the numbers? (HP/TQ)

    Re: The C7's have arrived!

Based on chevy website, the MSRP of the base model is $51,XXX. I am not sure how loaded the base model is, but 51k is not that high. Truth be told, there are many young people driving around in brand new 45-55k cars, e.g. ATS premium, CTS premium, BMW 3 series 335, 5 series, 4 series, A4 premium plus, A5 premium plus, C class 350 with sport package ... All of these cars cost around a base C7and even more. So it is not just about the money. If I had the option to choose between my ATS and a C7, I would still choose the ATS! The C7 is nice, but it is not practical and it is not something that you want to drive to work! I am going to say maybe the older, retired people are more interested in fun factor of a car rather than its practically, so that is why they buy a C7.

The automatic did 390's hp & 380's tq on a mustang dyno

Other than the c6 zr1's this is the first car that white looks great on to me.

And paid for by even older retired men.
