This weekend, road trip, meet a fellow member, come home with 1987 Fleetwood!

Well, it is appearing as though what started as a semi-joke on the 5th of this month will indeed culminate with me being the new owner of a great 87 Cadillac!

After a long process of planning, and no less than 30 emails, bewber and I have come up with a plan to get his car from Flint MI to Madison WI.

We will be meeting at the Meijer parking lot in Michigan City IN at 1:30 CDT on Sat. If you are in the area stop by and join the fun.

Yup, and he assures me it will come W/O flames down the sides.
He is a great guy and has bent over backward to help put this deal together.(But not foreward!)
He sent me a long email with the nitty gritty of what needs doing etc. When I found out he was friends with Jay and Roo from long roof I knew he was good people.

It seems to be a good car that I can enjoy driving while my Talisman is still in the process of getting done. Need a lot of little niggling thing done. The kind you can knock off in a day or two each, while you enjoy driving it. Having easy work and driving time will relieve some of the frustration I face on the Talisman.

Thanks guys, I am pretty stoked. The owner had 5 of the six fillers and paint for them he is including. He is a really great guy and I hope everything goes well.

Well the brewskies are kicking in so, of to bed.

It really is funny how smoothly it ended up going. It started out with me thinking I NEEDED to sell it ASAP - and ended up as me not needing or wanting to sell a car that was being bought by a guy who didn't really need to have it, and we both drove about 4 hours one way to do it anyway.

It was a long day but Dave was so great to deal with, he even picked up a car part for me along his way. The loss of the yellow caddy will sting for awhile, but the new cowl induction hood on my 65 Biscayne wagon will help.

Love your '87 Brougham. That yellow is an all-time favorite color, too. Do you have the optional rear reading lamps (the type with an independent switch on each one)?

I miss elements of the late 80's Broughams that were scrapped for the 1990+ model broughams. (Analog speedo / analog fuel, the black idiot light bar under the dash pad, climate control vent orientation, and the seatbelt anchor points in the car-not the door.

Upholstery pattern says Brougham=no rear seat reading lights.

Dave, I'm having trouble getting a fix on the color yellow of your new Fleetwood. In some pictures it seems to be a light yellow like the 1970's color "Phoenician Ivory" and in other pictures it looks like a much stronger color of yellow. Whatever yellow it is, it looks great and I 'm sure you will have many enjoyable drives in her!
