    New User: 1985 Sedan DeVille

Just bought a 1985 Cadillac Sedan DeVille that I plan on slowly restoring. Not in terrible condition but immediate work is needed on Power Steering, Needs new air filter, and air suspension needs patched (I believe.)
I also pan on making a YouTube series as I do it.

Welcome!!! Post up some pics of that beast. Although I wouldn't be dumping too much $$$$ into a 1985 Sedan Deville, but whatever floats your boat.

These cars tend to be unloved because of their miserable drivetrain, but the car itself is awesome. Good on you for saving another old Caddy from oblivion.

I'd disagree there. The 4.1 I heard was a good bit more reliable in FWD form, mainly because it had 1000lbs less car to drive around, and it had been on the market for 4 years, allowing GM to work out some of the bugs. Its the stubby and very generic styling that really turned people off IMO.

Depends if his 85 is RWD or FWD. The FWDs were a mid-year introduction. And you're right about the 4100 being better in the FWD cars. My aunt had an 87 Fleetwood d'Elegance, and it was a very nice car to drive. I liked it a whole lot better than my parents' 87 Olds 98 Regency.

This looks just like mine, only four years older! I think the headlights are a little different and the grill too. I can't wait for your Youtube videos!

Actually, now that I look at it more, there are a few other differences. My side mirrors are not chrome, I don't have black bumper guards, And mine is a lighter tone on the bottom. The are def sisters though.

There are differences in the body itself too. The '85-'87 Deville's/Fleetwoods are squarer and flatter.
