Any you guys ever read "the Street".?

    ----------

I actually saw a Tesla the other day. Nothing special from the outside. It was a saloon body. My Beemer is up in sept. i think i'm going with the Audi RS 5 v8. They're hard. To find.

with cadillac sales up 30% it only tells you the last cole years have been crap for sales.

There's quite a few zipping around out here. They look ok, pretty much like any other modern car with high end pretentions. Interior is a Tokyo-by-night electronic extravaganza. Don't know that that makes it worth 70k base.

How does the fit and finish look on the Tesla? When are the designers going to get over the Japanese bar district look for dashboards in cars? I always enjoy the simplicity and legibility of my 4th generation Seville's dash after the flash and bingo of my wife's 5th generation's dash (in certain lights you can see the speedometer or other info). The visual effect I want is of what's in front of my on the road not a bunch of visual noise in the cockpit!

Going slow through Chicago we were next to a truck-load of them, looked good from the next lane. Was funny to see a smooth flat bottom under them like an old VW.

I saw one on I-95 between Old Saybrook and New Haven, CT. Where he turned off. He had a Connecticut plate and the word "Eletric" or something like with the maximum amount of letters on a plate.

    But have y'all seen this?

From what I've seen, the cars look to be put together well enough. Never sat in one yet, though.

There was one that was parked next to me in the Costco parking lot last month. It was a red Tesla Model S and the fit and finish looks good, but my opinion is that it doesn't look like a luxury car that would be in the price range that it is. Of course, it is an EV car so the prices are higher, but it's looks doesn't scream high level luxury, IMHO.

My first response when I was walking to my car was, "damn it....I parked far away from everyone to prevent anyone from parking near to me, and someone with a cheap Ford parks next to me". As I got closer, I said "Wow, this is actually a Tesla".

If I had the money, and could justify spending that much of it on one car, I would so get a Tesla.

FWIW, the stiffest (careful now) safest chassis ever tested by NHTSA.

And the Tesla S is outselling each of the full size Krautvagens. Go America!

You'll be in line behind me but only when a 400 mile battery weighs less than a tank of gas. Weight is a huge turnoff to me. I love the idea of electric motors though. I think hot rodding electric motors should be cheaper with bigger payoffs than any IC engine and wear parts should be cheaper.

I saw one parked on the University of Hawaii's campus! I wasn't expecting to see such a car there!

It was probably a professors car. The red Model S that I saw was at the Kapolei Costco. I also saw a charcoal gray colored one two weeks ago near to Kahala Mall, and another gray one on the windward side. They're nice cars overall, though for that price I'd most likely look elsewhere.

That or he has an executive job. Chairs, deans, provosts, presidents, vice presidents, they all have very good salaries. Even successful full professors earn something close to $200k. It is not that hard to buy a Tesla if your salary is something like this.
