Over the years we have had some good thread with members sharing their favorite cooking tips and recipes, with all the new members frequenting the Lounge these , I thought it might be for a new thread.
One of my favorites was a very spicy five bean chili that came from an astute cook who hails from Arkansas.
Another great contributor of recipes was our good friend from the tri-cities are of Washington whose barbeque and Cal-Mex recipes were really winners.
Looking forward to reading and preparing some new recipes from our members.
This is a family favorite. When you need a quick buffalo wing fix and you are feeling guilty about your waist line, this is a great alternative. I found this on Pintrest, but I made a few changes. Instead of rotisserie chicken, I boiled boneless, skinless breasts. I also used Franks hot sauce, as is tradtitional for wings. I didn't use cilantro either.
1/2 cup non-fat plain Voskos Greek Yogurt
1/2 cup Franks Red Hot Wings Buffalo sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
4 cups of cubed cooked chicken (about 1 rotisserie chicken)
2 celery stalks, chopped
1/2 cup cilantro, minced
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
directions:
In a large bowl, whisk together Voskos Greek Yogurt, buffalo sauce, salt, garlic powder and black pepper.
Fold in chicken, celery, cilantro and blue cheese.
Just found the ultimate Maraschino cherry in a local liquor store - a quart Mason jar, brown paper label, filled with cherries and 100 proof moonshine from a distillery in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Ole Smokey Distillery - the usual Surgeon General warning label says "Shine responsibly".
Great in Manhattans and Old Fashioneds. Found this (among others) online ..............
