Lol. That's nothing. Just installed some 22 inch pink Hypnotic C Notes on a pink Hummer limo at work yesterday. Lets see if I can get it to upload here.

Not to worry. This is community lounge, our threads are "point"less!

I was all ready to hate that when you first posted, but now that I see it is for breast cancer awareness, I'm cool with it.

Actually that 1960 Cadillac station wagon looks like something thought up and executed for Zha Zha Gabor's poodles! Like the Kardashians their will always be a market for "conspicuous consumption" for its' own sake. In generations gone by the Gabor sisters, along with other long forgotten persons have raked in press exposure generated celebrity for their acts of extravagance .... instead of their talent or importance!

I want that thing more than words can express.

Orconn, where's your sense of adventure?

My sense of adventure may be running out ..... I can only envision you and your wonderful pooch in such a conveyance, but of course it would have to orange .... no one knows the celebrity that might follow!

Orange would be preferential, but I'd settle for silver in this case.

The body work they put into that thing is pretty darn crazy. Chopped the roof(remember its a hearse and the roof was a lot taller), the fins are completely custom all the way down the sides of the car and taller in the back, kind of ridiculous.

Although my favorite thing is the period correct shiny grey nylon/synthetic seat material with the plastic seat covers. Glad they didn't go with the now trendy suede/leather look that will look silly 5 years down the road.

Re: The last word in limousine?

This is like the fourth time in as many weeks we've "discussed" this exact car.

It goes without saying which factory built "Thundertaker" before the custom parts. Only they can produce such works of art.

That being said, I cannot vouch for any sense of uniqueness. Superior has been building them since the early fifties. They just never repainted them silver.

Surprisingly, I've only ever seen one in person though. It was a 1959.

(Not the one I saw, but they all looked the same, aside from differences from year to year (until people repainted them other colours, such as silver)

As lovely of a specimen as it was, it was absolutely nothing when compared to the other 1959 Superior it was parked next to at the time. In my life, I have never (and will never) experience a vehicle greater than that one. I would literally kill/die for it (which is saying a lot, since I am not an automotive enthusiast)

Of course, be it a '59 or '60, a Hearse or a Station Wagon, it...like all cars, only looks acceptable in black.

To think, in this day and age, we still have barbarians running around with silver cars.

I would rather ride in the red and white one.

Re: The last word in limousine?

^They go up for sale now and again. If you've no preference on year, I know I saw two on sale on Craigslist earlier this year.

Then you can slightly alter it, paint it silver and run around bragging that it is some sort of custom instead of admitting just how little work actually had to be done to get it that way...

Of course, in my opinion, while the Broadmoor Skyview (The red/white ones pictured above), which Superior began building in the fifties, are nice enough cars, they never compared to the Sovereign models. They are most definitely my all-time favourite cars. I actually like them in any body style...even the modern ones. Modern cars are not my cup of tea, but if I HAD to purchase one...It would be a Sovereign. I do however also quite like the Statesman and the Diplomat is growing on me
