My first Cadillac: The accidental acquisition of Stella

My minivan was beginning to disintegrate, and it was time to move on. There she was in the back lot of the dealership, shining in her champagne glory, wedged between the two desperate looking Buicks my mother had insisted my boyfriend OK before we emptied our wallets on. Something told me I wasn't buying a Buick anymore. Mostly it was because my boyfriend had jumped out of the driver's seat of the minivan without even parking the car to go stroke her lovely body. I know, it sounds like a romance novel. It practically is. My 89 Sedan DeVille is spotless. No dents or scratches and has around 49,000 carefully recorded miles. The service records are handwritten in the owner's manual. The interior is spotless, and I am terrified that my two kids will destroy it. Somehow my boyfriend managed to convince my parents that a 25 year old car should be my minivan replacement. But even with their help, I still didn't have the 5700 it was going to cost. I know, pathetic right? Well, my dad took my grandmother to visit the car in the lot, and Stella cast her magic spell. Out came the checkbook, and a couple of days later, here I am with my first Cadillac. The dealership even gave me the "Gold Key Delivery System" even though it is so old, and the original gold keys are missing! Wow do I feel fancy.

Dayum !!! Most excellent ! There are a bunch of deVille owners in the (earlier) Deville forums that would love to get their hands on that car. Go up ^^^ the the earlier deVille forum and jump in. (Now figure out how to upload PICTURES !!!!)

Best of luck - and welcome to the funny farm.

Well, I tried, but I guess I have to resize them. I figured a Cadillac would be to big, but not for this website! LOL

Welcome aboard. The late 80s/ early 90s fleetwoods were pretty nice cars. Can't wait to see some pics.

Faith, If you're going to post pictures from your computer directly to this site, we're limited to 20mb total attachment size. Either create your own online picture storage folder or resize your pics to just under 800 X 800 (both dimensions under 800 pixels) and post from your own computer folder. I made a dump folder named "E-mail resizes" - that's where I surf to in order to load all the pics and diagrams I use in the Northstar FWD forums.

By resize, do you mean to actually crop and make them smaller?

The 89-93 FWD Cadillacs are wonderful DDs--smooth, comfortable, and very reliable. Enjoy!
