    Let them eat cake.

I recently switched to a Window8 phone. Like most WP8 users, I preferred it to iPhones and Androids. The only downside for me was having to wait for specific APs to become available for these newer phones.

I asked the forum admins a week or so ago when I can expect a WP version of their forum AP. I got no response.

I figured I could wait since I could use Tapatalk. Tapatalk is just now available for WP which I knew would happen around this time when I bought my phone.

Yesterday, someone posted about a problem they were having with Tapatalk and these forums. A moderator casually mentioned that the forum owners were dropping Tapatalk since they have their own AP.

I get it that they want people to use their own AP and I would be happy to do so were it not for their own feet dragging to release it for WP!

I would appreciate it if members would contact the site owners and let them know their impersonation of Marie Antoinette is not that funny. They need to retain Tapatalk UNTIL they release their own AP for Windows Phones.

I would hate to see forum members do their impression of how Marie's subjects dealt with her attitude problem.

Where did the rest of this thread go? There were numerous, mostly off topic posts that are now gone.

If they plan on deleting off topic posts, "they are going to need a bigger staff!"

I deleted the off topic stuff because I reported it to Admin for follow up. Not sure if he's seen it yet or not.

Thanks. I figured it wasn't because they were off topic and they didn't seem to violate any policy.

That's what I was thinking too.

    Now back to the topic:

I have been discussing this in the Cadillacforums Help Desk forum.

It was looking encouraging at first because admin appeared to say a Windows Phone version would be available within the week. But several other's jumped in to say/imply that's not right.

Here is a link to the thread: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...ml#post3613113

Here is a recent post that pretty much sums up the current situation:

With all due respect, (s)he was answering my post which was only about a Windows phone version. And even if (s)he wasn't, (s)he said: we would definitely never take it (tapitalk) away without offering an alternative. That is not out of any context. As one of the millions of Windows Phone users, I am asking where is that alternative (s)he committed to? I suppose "pounding sand" IS a kind of alternative and if that was his/her meaning I apologize for misunderstanding and amend my question to: will Auto Guide be providing the sand for us to pound?
I'm thinking the "let them eat cake" analogy was very appropriate.

A word to the wise in the lounge? Wow!

Now I can cross that off my bucket list.
