Any car shows worth watching of late?

Anyone see a car shows worth watching? All I see these days are shows where some guys are trying to buy low and sell high. It seems like "flip city" out there on the air waves .... "Oh, here is a piece of crud 1967 Ford sedan, I think I'll pay too much for this thing put a "cheapo" restoration on it and sell it to some sucker." Or we'll throw some air bags on it and some fancy wheels and some sucker will buy it for their kid!" Meanwhile let's show some juvenile horsing around by the mechanics and through in a girl welder or radiator tech in a miniskirt and platforms in case our audience is completely board with our low budget, low brow show!

Sounds like you described gas monkey garage (and car wars texas if that is still on) to a "T".
I like counting cars (could do with less of the goofball antics and fake drama and more focus on the building of the cars. I also like watching the power block on spike. Some of the projects the guys do are sweet and they seem to be pretty professional/ knowledgable in their work. I also wish overhaulin was on one of the major networks.

Wheeler Dealers is pretty fun, as they take somewhat obscure, more pedestrian(ie CHEAP) cars and do some basic restoration work on them. They usually start with a solid car that needs some mechanical or cosemetic work, usually they avoid rusty cars, but sometimes its fun to watch Ed China do some really nice fab work on rusty heaps.

Top Gear, British version. Great for your exotic fixation, pretty damn funny as well.

Chasing Classic Cars. This show usually fixates on very rare pre 1970's cars, lots of beautiful, rare, and rather esoteric cars featured on this show. It kind of follows a professional "dealer" who buys/sells/locates these type of Pebble Beach cars for rich people. Its rather interesting because this guy deals in #1 show cars, beautiful unrestored examples, and total basket cases that have been sitting in a barn for 20 or 30 years.

Those and Overhaulin are pretty much the cream-of-the-crop. The Power Block is good also and you can learn a lot, but wouldn't be much entertainment to anyone who doesn't do their own work IMO.

Top Gear UK is a must.

    Top Gear USA is improving.

I can't deal with American Top Gear. The few episodes I tried to watch were just remakes of the BBC episodes, and you just can't beat Clarkson, Hammond and May.

I used to watch Top Gear once a year or so, simply for the humour. I dint know they've made a Unites States variant.

I really don't watch much television. I imagine the USA variant is not much good.

Fifth Gear is great. Think TGUK, but less silliness. One of the hosts, Tiff Needell, is one of the old TGUK hosts.

Well, Rutledge Wood from TG:USA owned a Roadmaster wagon, so he's cool in my book?

    Also, I've never liked TG:UK.

I don't care about the Seville, either.
