I can still remember the moment that I was watching Top Gear UK and Richard Hammond said that the STS handled and looked like a pig! I jumped in a fury from the couch and while was pointing at him I started yelling that pig is your.... and continued naming his entire family one by one! I am not proud of that moment and action, but that little guy was very unfair and his comment was because of his ignorance and his bias!

I don't hate it, but I don't care for it either. For me, the turn off is the repetition - overuse of the same outspoken humor in every episode. Sometimes I feel like can accurately predict the next words of the 3 clown hosts.

It can be mildly entertaining here and there, however. It has it's moments. They are just too few and far between.

I agree whole heartedly with Drew's assessment of Top Gear UK. There repetitive sophomoric humour and their all too evident prejudices make for a rather boring show after you have watched it a few times. Fun the first couple of times, then just repetitious slapstick!

Top Gear U.S. doesn't even have even moments of somewhat interesting subject matter or information. These three guys are all to graphic of the pablum brained mediocrity that is all to common in American life today. I will say the production values, of the few shows I have endured, seem to be first rate, but writing and delivery that the show contains don't even bring TPU.S. to snoozeville level.

I caught a MotorWeek episode this weekend that named the 2013 Cadillac ATS as the MotorWeek 2013 Drivers' Choice Best of the Year

I posted the video in Feb or March in the ATS forum. It wasn't a segment contest but included all cars from all segments.

I think I've only said this maybe twice in all my time on the forum, but I agree with Drew.

Also, Clarkson irritates the piss out of me. He's not some automotive savant. He's a redneck with a funny accent.

    Doesn't do it for me.

What you and Drew have overlooked is that it isn't an educational show about cars any more than Family Guy is an educational show about family values. Like many successful shows, TG makes viewers feel good about themselves in comparison to the people they see on screen.

I can't speak for Sting, but I haven't overlooked that. My complaints about the show have nothing to do with it's automotive educational value. I don't expect it from a show of it's caliber. The show is meant to be comically entertaining to those who watch it- for those who like cars and those who don't. For me, it fails. Period.

Eh. I get that, but their normal episodes just don't amuse me. The specials where they go abroad sometimes have their moments, but that's about it.

I like some of their specials, but their normal shows are boring to me.

Speaking of which, has anyone had the displeasure to watch the steretypical redneck douchefest known as "R U Faster than a redneck" where rednecks who can't drive their hopped up 70s muscle worth a crap talk smack to usually douchey inexperienced ricer drivers/ wannabe euro boy racers who then proceed to win because the rednecks can't keep their muscle cars out of the grass.

Exactly, that's why its funny, because he does have a sense of smug superiority about himself, but he's really just a blathering idiot.

As for the show being repetitive and recycling the same gags, well its been on for 11 years. Some episodes are brilliant, some are a swing and a miss. What always keeps me coming back for more is their testing of exotic cars. I wouldn't know what the heck a Pagani Zonda was if it weren't for Top Gear
