Re: Cool cars I've workec on

Funny you should post this today.
Just a few hours ago, a customer walked in and said, "I've got a '69 Hurst Olds in a garage right behind your shop and it doesn't move."
This is one of my favorite cars & I had no idea that it was 100 feet away for years. He's not selling & I didn't work on it yet but he's bringing it over tomorrow.
This is the only pic I got today in his garage. Should have more soon.

If I were the guy with the Shelby, I don't think I'd appreciate having someone else post a specific picture of just the license plate like that.... Other than that, those are some amazing cars.

The same guy owns the Shelby, viper, Ferrari valkerie, back to the future car. He also has and I've worked on KITT from knight rider, scooby mystery machine van, one of the 5 original batmobiles from the 70 series show. A Bentley, a prowler, and a ford 500 gt. this Delorean was in the 2nd movie, the Shelby is the prototype and the viper made special for him. He didn't mind me posting the plate 3 years ago, so should be ok now.

Re: Cool cars I've worked on

Okay, this is something I've wondered about for some time now.
What is the deal with the big fear of posting a photo of your plate? I see so many people blurring it out or covering it.
My license plate is seen by 1000's of people everyday. Why the secrecy?
    talismandave and talismandave like this.

Some think you can find out where you live that way. And you could. I've got friends who are cops and if they were bad cops, I'd give them the plate and could run it and give me his exact address. And now I know he's got several valuable cars. Lol.

I've never worried about it but some do

Difference between thousands of people seeing it a day and posting it on the net is most don't give our cars a second glance on the street, let alone care what our plates say. But on here, that's all we do is pay attention to every detail about every car.

.....Anyone that looks at the car while you're driving it can see the plate. Is the concern that someone will find out where you live, and come try to steal the car? In that case, wouldn't you be more paranoid about the people that see it locally, as you drive, than some random people on the Internet that could live hundreds or thousands of miles away?

My thoughts exactly. Maybe I should put a shroud over the plate whenever I drive...

I'm just saying other than that, idk why people are worried about it. That's just a guess, nothing more. As I stated its not something I worry about.
