New member, a few Cadillac owned. :p

I decided to introduce myself as I just joined but have been lurking from the outside for quite a while. I just bought myself a new to me 1986 Cadillac Brougham. I have been wanting one of these for many years.
I also have a 1975 Eldorado and a 2008 Escalade. I figured the 86 would be a decent addition to the fleet in order for my wife and boys to have a spare car they can use when the Escalade is in the shope for some reason or other. Yeah, I could have used it when some dumbass stole all the wheels and tires off of it in front of my house.
The 86 still has to pass smog and get detailed as the hood and trunk are horribly oxidized. I did a fair job on the trunk but managed to throw out my back int he process. The auto detailer I made an appointment with suggested I don't do his job and he won't do mine.

Thanks for all the welcomes. The 86 is actually a brougham. I waited the guy out and got a good price---as far as I am concerned anyway.

She looks like this but I did a few things to it already. It now has a hood ornament again.

Sorry "brougham" She looks good! What's your plan with her? I love these old Rear wheel drive boats with white walls.

I am going to make her look as new as possible. I rubbed out the trunk lid area that had a ton of oxidation and made it shine and mop n gloed the top but I managed to throw my back out in the process. I have to take it to a detailer and let him finish it after I get it smogged.
I managed to locate the spare tire, jack and the rest of the package here locally. I didn't notice it was missing when I bought it. I suppose that was a $75 lesson learned.
The interior is in much better shape than the finish.

Welcome nice brougham bro. Spotted a new looking escalade stripped down in Philly a few weeks ago. Guy was driving it anyway.

Thanks! It is even a bit better than I thought it would be. I like it better every time I drive it. That 307 sure doesn't feel underpowered to me. I blew through town at 50 this morning.
I still have to get it smogged out here so it is in the shop getting prepared to pass. I don't do smog stuff.
My friend wants me to put dual pipes out the back but I am sure the DMV out here would not be inmpressed.

Well, you can be sure that it would fail the "visual test." They look at it to make sure it is stock or at least looks stock. If you can make it look like it came from the factory that way then you would be fine. Then again, if you get caught then you have to take it all off and put it back the way it was. Not a good position to be in.
Looking at the Governor we have, I can see why you might think that. lol lol
