My mom had one, but she converted all her records to cassettes and sold it. I was about 4 or 5 at the time, so all I remember is that Mom had a giant CD player, and if you nudged the needle it made an entertaining goof in the cassette.

Cassette Tapes are curious. I have honestly never had to deal with them firsthand (Being an eighties child or not), but have out of curiosity from time to time. It is peculiar though to think that the children being born today will never comprehend what correlation a Cassete tape and two No2 Pencils have, what the SAVE icon used on modern computers was modeled after or what the devil an 8-Track is (Modern children under eighteen probably don't know that last one, to be honest). Records however will not fade into oblivious obscurity until two generations after the last DJ has used them. Personally, I enjoy my Gramophone. Mp3 technology pales in comparison and one can never make an honest sacrifice of class over trendiness.

Brandon, you probably don't own a set of "curb feelers" either!

Get a Nova. Make it look bone stock and original. Dump a 440 in it.

    Curb feelers required.

Although before I found out my apollo had really bad undercarriage rot, I wanted to shoehorn a 455 under the hood....imagine rolling up in a ratty shi.t brown with white top 4 door granny car and dusting almost everything in sight

You should have said something...I think I have a pair, rust free complete. I had bought them for a 56 Century and sold it before using them!

If you could find them, that would be awesome. Whats a pimpmobile without curb feelers?

Dave, haven't you figured out that retail turnover in Wisconsin is very slow, those metal 45 adapters were just "NOS!" Everyone else had long gone to plastic!

    Magic Hat Bottle Caps

I've probably got a couple hundred collected over the last 5 years.

At first I was keeping all of the caps that I got, but after I got to about 50 or so I decided that I only wanted to keep the ones that were cool.

The idea originally was to make a coffee table with the caps on top underneath a glass top (or something similar that showed off the caps)

"Hocus Poke Us" - a play on words from one of my favorite seasonal (retired) Magic Hat brews - Hocus Pocus

"Try Not To Be Your Own Enemy"

    "The Answer Is Yes"

"Are You Content With Where You Went?" - this was the first cap from my first beer after getting home from NYC a couple weeks ago

"Glove Before Love" - this one just made me laugh ... read on for the story

Funny story about three of these caps (and the reason that I have pictures of them):

I got the "Hocus" cap one night then the next beer had the "Glove" cap... the third beer had the "Yes" cap

    Hocus Poke Us
    Glove Before Love
    The Answer Is Yes

My sides hurt for a while from laughing so much

I sometimes wonder about what the fourth cap might have said: "Cigarette?"

    Re: What do you collect?

I actually only know a few people who use Curb Feelers and interestingly, they all own small, modern cars with plenty of visibility. Like an HHR and an Avenger.
