All the properly made cars from that era had some aquatic resemblance. Corvettes even started naming themselves after them.

Actually, while I couldn't really care too much for the Corvette as a car (or the two Corvy-powered Cadillacs I have owned over the last so-many years) I did get to see a XP-755 Corvette "Mako Shark" in person once. It was years and years ago, on a trip to Florida (I lived in The Holy Land at the time). Not sure how many there are presently out there...but I've touched one of them.

If you painted it black, sure. Consort was a small division of Superior, so they will always have a very special place in that rusted thing in my chest most people call a "Heart".

    Plus, I like Pontiacs.

Dead Kennedy, ... black, bulbous, luxury station wagon, sans classic ambulance lights ......... adds up. Yup! I can see it .... lounging horizontally in the back, encased in a satin lined, padded wooden box .....

You guys say that like Pontiac Hearses are rare. It may be a regional thing, but I don't think so, because I've found Consorts from every corner of North America. Of course, PA is the exception as EVERYONE has a Hearse up there.

Like that one. Not all are black though. Pontiac Hearses were popular in Copper, Burgundy, Blue and Silver all the way up until they stopped really making them anymore, which was right around where the 80's met the 90's.

I have a friend with a custom '68 what he converted to a standard with a new motor and extensive performance modifications and some of the most beautiful custom interior work I have ever seen on ANY car, but promised not to show photos of it here anymore, because last time I did, some of you Cadillac tykes got the thread locked due to a severe case of The Butthurt.

I'd really like to have a Consort to match my '67 Pontiac someday. The fact that most of my cars are not Hearses is incredibly disturbing to myself, as most of my family up North.

im gonna loose my cool points ....but the other side of the dead kennedy joke is the car dullihan put up is a recreation of of the car that transported JFK's body on that dark day ....a navy ambulance oddly enough....

i love the lines on the pontiac consort ...if like to shorten the wheelbase on one by about 2 feet and stuff a nice 421sd motor in there for grocery dutys ...make a cool little wagon out of it

Is it disturbing that I know which Hearses carried most famous people from The Golden Era of The American Automobile?

Yeah, that was what was cool about Consort and Cotner-Bevington. Both brands (which used Pontiac Bonnevilles and Oldsmobile 98s respectively) were easy to convert into typical wagons.

Actually, a few years back, a gentleman in Georgia had the most pristine Buick Estate Wagon Hearse. It was an S&S and had all of the fancier upgrades, even the rare S&S hubcaps and hood ornament. I never bought it, but seriously considered it when a friend and I came up with an interesting project that it could be used for. If I did not have so many projects at the time, I would have gone for it.

Herself, being a Buick fan knew of a fellow in Tampa who had a wrecked GNX. The engine and interior were good, but most of the body was shot. We just kind of sat there and thought about how neat it would be to redo the entire Hearse in black, swap in the interior and mechanical components and I already knew a supplier of all the proper body parts (Useful info, because the same supplier sells Cadillac bumper fillers) and we could make a Grand National Hearse for next-to-nothing in investment.

    Maybe one day.

Until then, this is the closest I have seen.

I think the hearse guys need their own section, we could call it "Hearse-keteers!"
