I thought it would be cool to start a thread about derelict cars in your area. Stuff thats been sitting for a long while, but could maybe be coerced back into life with a little work. Something that might run if you banged around under the hood long enough. I managed to find several examples around our little town of Otsego. Here we go!
We kick things off with an early 70's Chevrolet Camaro. It's been up on blocks in that carport for just about as long as I can remember. No idea who owns it, but sometimes there is an old lady out in the front yard.
Next on the list is my favorite, a 1958 Imperial Crown Southampton. This too, has been sitting for as far back as I can remember. It actually used to sit in the alleyway next to the building, and mysteriously appeared in the parking lot one day. I desperately want to buy it but have only seen the owner once, when I was much younger.
Spotted this crazy van on my way to see The Twins.
The Twins (Almost identical in color.)
80's Town Car
This is where I went next, the remains of an old auto shop-turned-junkyard. (I MIGHT have gone "exploring" with a friend behind the building once, and there are probably close to 50 cars back there, everything from the 1950's to the 1970's.)
70's Thunderbird. It's been for sale forever, but was recently moved. You can see the ruts it left behind.
This dude LOVES his Rancheros. There are two up against the building, and about 5 more out back.
Can you see the tow truck?
I love that patina.
I think this is the crown jewel of that old shop. Hiding under all of those boxes is an almost flawless late 70's Camaro.
Well, that's all I've got for now. Let's see your local derelicts!
