No, Roo, is right on the money, it's a Lamborghini Espada. Looks to be an early one probably a '68 or '69. To be honest The Espada is one of my very favorite Lamborghini's. It had the four litre version of the same 4 ohc V-12 that my 350 GT had, but it was a four place car and came equipped with air conditioning. The big four place Ferrari's and Lamborghini's were never that popular in the U.S, but were very popular with the high and mighty in Europe. If I were to ever buy another Lamborghini it would be an Espada. Today Espada's are among the very cheapest Lambo's to buy (along with the Islero and the Jarama).

There's an old Trans Am that's parked on the side of the road across the valley... It's lifted a good 3' in the air, and the only thing left of the T/A is the body. It's got gigantic tires, and TRANS-ZILLA painted on the side. God help us all. (I'm not exaggerating at all.)

Then take it, Matt. I can guarantee that if there were a fifties car that just sat and did nothing for all those years and I wanted it, there is no way I would have even waited this long.

Of course. Consider that mine are older and the fact that all of them but two are literally forgotten. They are in the middle of the woods, in moist citrus groves of Lake County where it rains regularly, if not every day. They have been sitting there, likely since the seventies at latest and many have probably not been moved (Or even owned) since the sixties, or earlier.

Also, I forgot one, though it is owned by a local restaurant, I think it fits the bill. These photos do it no justice. Trust me, it is most likely in worse shape than any other I have posted.

In Central Florida, this is how you advertise. You buy an eye-catching car and park it someplace, then paint your business name on it. Everyone seems to have one. I snapped a photo of this one for a separate thread a while back.

Damn, the interior looks original and damn near perfect. Also, not a lot of rust (that I can see), which is really rare for these cars. If it's not a disaster on the undercarriage, it would be an easy cosmetic restoration. GRAB IT, MATT!!!!!!!

There's a 1962 Chevy 2 Impala not far from the office. white with a bit of rust around it. And on the other side of the Columbia river in Pasco is a 1965 Orange (heavily oxidized) Impala. that's been sitting on ramps for at least 5 years. no ding or dents from what i can see, but it hasn't been covered so i imagine there's some rust.

Ah, yes, those Imperials really made an impression! I don't remember ever seeing one with a hood ornament. I wonder if that was a factory (OEM) option to help Mid-Westerners cope with the no center hood ornament styling fad that started in 1957? The on on this car doesn't look like it came out of a J.C. Whitney catalog, but while it does look out of place it looks like it could have been an option.

Those Imperials are works of art... as with lots of cars from that era.

    Doesn't Sandy have one?

Good question. It looks a little out of place, but on a car that over the top, hard to say. Cool looking car. I bet there are some neat looking tutone paint schemes that came on those. Love the salmon interior!

    Re: Derelicts In Your Area

The man that owns the flea market by my house has a '57 Chevy sedan sitting under an awning beside his house. I know the car hasn't been touched in 20 years. The body and paint on the car are PERFECT. All the glass is in the car and some of the trim is on it. I think the front and rear bumpers aren't on it, and the grille may be missing, though I'm sure he has everything for it. It looks like it was a restoration project at one point and he just stopped and left the car to sit. It has always driven me crazy to see it just sitting there like that. I may go see if I can get a picture of it.

I'm thinking its an option or a dealer installed accesory. Weren't those spare tire humps on the trunk a dealer add on as well? I don't see them on ALL Imperials and Chrysler letter cars.
