Re: What are you listening to?

The sparse differences in my musical taste have yielded insight that symphonic and vocal talent have been born in Germany more recently than the Classical Era.

I have actually met and hung out (And grudgingly traded flatcaps) with Angela Gossow (Singer of Arch Enemy) and she is more well educated than I give most people credit for, even if she dresses a bit funny for a girl and plays guitar rather well, in spite of it never being used on any of the band's albums. I guess one day, should I be in the proper region, I could still get into their concerts, but that requires that "free time" stuff that I have little of left these days.

An interesting fact I have learned however is that when showing up at a classic car show in a retirement neighbourhood, doing so with a bunch of nubile young women and playing black metal is apparently some sort of Taboo. Florida, as usual, is the strangest place I have ever been.

.......listening to...........Dire Straits On Every Street vinyl

Rainy last eve.....tinkered with the turntable, reset cartridge rake (VTA) and azimuth.......got antsy and switched over to the AES SixPacks - very smooth and listenable, but the EL-34's don't grab the VISTA's like the KT-88's in the VAC PA 100/100.

Tubes are fun............the amps on the left weigh 80 pounds, the one on the right, 75. Good transformers are heavy.

    ................SixPacks.......................... . VAC PA100/100

Tubes are good. I love my tubes. I have a collection of vintage Soviet, Yugoslavian, and American tubes.

Re: What are you listening to?

Warning - my favorite heavy metal song ever and one of the best ever made. Tony's playing in it will melt your face off. Black Sabbath is the holy grail of heavy metal. Not too fond of them after Ozzy was fired though. But Tony, Bill and Geezer are crazy talented. Tony's up there on my list of top 10 guitarists.

    I miss those days.
