Figured I'd post this here, as it has to do with the Vigor. It's had a bad month.....

About a month ago, my fathers car was being worked on (he got rear ended), so he borrowed the Vigor. Someone went through a stop sign, and grazed the front bumper. My father had stopped by the time the other car made contact, and it was going slow, so just paint damage.

After it was fixed, I parked it back in my yard, and LESS THAN A WEEK LATER, my neighbor backed into the same bumper . .....Again, just paint damage, it was fixed.

It had been about 2 weeks since I drove it, so yesterday I took it for a drive to the pet store for some food for my mastiff, and his new best friend, a 4 pound kitten (watching them play together is HILARIOUS). Anyway, on the way home, 2 blocks from the house, someone pulled out of the gas station to my right, in front of a stopped taxi to my right, without looking into the lane RIGHT NEXT TO IT, the one with traffic STILL MOVING in it. I stopped, seeing that he was still moving, ended up past the taxi, and in his path. CRUNCH!

He was going less than 5 MPH, and there was a full 3 seconds between me stopping, and the impact, but he was looking straight at the taxi driver, and not where his van (a '99 Sienna) was going. When he backed away, his bumper fell off, and I was expecting more damage to the Vigor. The front passengers door took most of it, the rear of the fender is pushed in as well. Both have to be replaced. The front of the rear door has some paint damage, but no metal damage.

I'll upload pictures tomorrow. Everyone loves some vehicular carnage...

    Re: Thank you neighbor

Hopefully it's got it out of its system. Back in '67 I was rear ended 3 times (all minor) in less than 2 hours. Every time I had leasurely stopped for a red light or stop sign and was just sitting there waiting for the light to change or traffic to clear. It had never been hit before and was never hit again, so the odds are in your favor now.

I was pulled over 3 times, in 20 minutes, by 2 different city cops, and a state trooper, on a 2 mile ride home, for a burnt out headlight. But never in 3 accidents in 1 day. Impressive!

Let's just put it this way! If an old soviet union's satellite get's out of orbit and crushes to the earth, there is a very high probability that it may land on MC's STS!

Went by the body shop today after the adjuster looked at the car. Both the front door and fender need to be replaced (but I knew that as soon as I looked at the damage), and he's going to paint the whole side of the car instead of blending into the quarter panel.

Because of the first incident with my neighbor, the left rear door, quarter panel, trunk lid, and rear bumper were painted, then the front bumper... twice, and now the whole right side of the car. All that's left is the roof, hood, front left door and fender. ... So much for the near perfect original car I started with a few years ago .

    Re: Thank you neighbor

If our present life is punishment or reward for the previous one, after reading the other threads and this one, I have to ask MC: would you have done anything differently Mr. Hitler?
