    Will wonders never cease?!

My wife has been in the throws of redoing her bathroom/dressing area. Along with a new double sink vanity with granite top and new hard wood flooring and tile flooring in the shower/slash toilet area, she has gotten a new toilet commode. Now this is no mundane "crapper" (named after the guy who invented the flush toilet) but a new model that is supposed to be water efficient but is powerful and doesn't do a half-arsed job like the toilet it replaces. However, the wonders don't stop there, this fixture came with a toilet seat that automatically closes the seat when it is left up but also pneumatically brings the cover down on the toilet seat. This new innovation should put an end to the "toilet seat left in the upright position" syndrome! Just another of married life's vexations overcome by modern technology!

    Re: Will wanders never cease?!

hahaha. i know we're the man and we're supposed to be considerate of our ladies feelings, BUT we put the seat up so we dont piss all over it, thats being considerate right? (i actually aim unlike alot of people i know, even with the seat down my ammo finds its target)

So why is it on us to put the toilet seat back down? "because if you leave it up i almost fall into the toilet" in this day and age of independent women and equality, should women be expected to remember to check if the seat is down? if we're expected to remember to put it up and not piss on it, and remember to put it down once we're done, what are the independent womens responsibilities?

I could just as easily say "gaahh you forgot to put the seat back up i pissed all over it!!"

I dont know why women are incapable of putting the toilet seat down themselves. I'm perfectly capable of using the lid.

I've seen that on "This Old House". It was undoubtedly invented by a woman (or by a married man who was nagged to it).

Sir John Harrington invented the toilet, Mr. Crapper's plumbing company built and installed them.

BTW, its "wonders never cease" not "wanders", unless she is aimlessly trudging about.

    Re: Will wonders never cease?!

I just have a personal habit of always closing the toilet when not in use, seat and lid. It's only proper. Such similar habits are really the only reason I keep my dwelling clean, because I am also basically unable to leave dishes in the sink. Not OCD, because I CAN leave them, just don't feel like coming back and washing them later (Which raises questions as to why I own so many dishes to begin with)

Oh well, my Girlfriend rather loves cleaning and doesn't mind me staying in the garage, crawled up under something and making a mess of myself either so in the end, everything will work out anyhow.

    Life is good.

Uh. Congrats on the toilet though.

We've had a toilet seat and lid for quite some time that you can't drop. There is some sort of silicon clutch in the hinge that controls the rate of descent.

Due to some strange quirk of anatomy, some women piss against the bottom of the seat so when the man that follows goes to raise the seat to piss they get their fingers full of piss and that's a pisser.
