    hi y'all... noob here...

just wanted to say hi to the caddy community!
been reading the forums a bit, but just signed a lease for a
thunder gray 11 cts wagon 3.0 luxury package over the weekend, and picking it up tonight.

just moved to the dc/dmv area and needed a car (this might be a security issue for californian) and with only one parking space in dc, i was torn between getting a sports car, or utility, luxury, or economy... it came down to the cts wagon or the mini countryman all4... mini would have been easier to park around town and better fuel economy, but i've always liked the redesigned lines for the new cts's... then a weekend trip to the dealership and a $1500down, $480/mo for 36mo lease offer later, i'll be picking up my first caddy tonight...

i thought it was interesting that there's always the debate of whether a caddy is a car for 'older' folks, and i promise to update y'all if the cts wagon somehow cramps my social life :P

i'm leaving behind a couple of cars on the west coast that i miss dearly... i have a 08 isf with less than 25k miles (which is on the selling blocks, if anyone is interested) and actually just picked up a 03 996 right before i left california (that will be my west coast car when i visit family) but i think even with the 3.0, the cts wagon will provide a good balance of utility, driving pleasure, economy (fuel, and lease cost), and class that i want in my one vehicle situation.

anyways... just wanted to say hi...
it's raining today so i might not be able to get good pictures at delivery... when i do, i'll try to post it here!

    Re: hi y'all... noob here...

i think that's how people refer to this tri state area right? Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, DMV?
(just moved to DC 3 months ago)
i got the car from jim coleman in MD, any words of advice on them?

well... i don't really agree that 'driving the dog snot' out of cars qualifies as 'not older folks,' especially since i somehow averaged 20mpg driving the isf in los angeles... (and i consider myself relatively not 'older' at age 31) but i do agree that the current caddy line up is attractive to a younger demographic than the previous two decades. i was really referring to the threads in the cts forum discussing the 'younger cts owners'

You missed my point - some of us "older folks" like to drive, not merely putt-putt around............for a hint at where I'm going, click on my username, get to my profile. Two albums there - 6 pages of various car stuff - check it out.
