Re: Food: What is your favorite dish or dishes?

I guess I'm the odd man out here. I love wine. My favorite reds are Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Petite Sirah. Occasionally a Cabernet. For whites, I like Viognier and Pinot Grigio. For spirits, I prefer Grey Goose vodka and Tanqueray gin, both either with tonic or in a martini. Never got into scotch, bourbon or whiskey, and after spring break 1987, I learned that José Cuervo is not a friend of mine.

Not much of a beer drinker, although it goes great with Mexican food. I feel rather un-Oregonian because I've never found a microbrew I really like (Portland is known as beervana because it has more brewpubs and microbreweries than any city in the U.S.). My beer of choice is Rolling Rock, although I also liked Stella Artois when I tried it recently. And I like Mike's Hard Lemonade and Limeade.

Sheesh, I sound like an alcoholic. But I'm not as bad as this guy:

"Well stop kidding, will you, and make us some drinks. You just press the button back there marked 'booze!'"

Little known fact: Gary D. does not in fact autocross... those are his drunken attempts to drive in a straight line with cones edited in for effect.

Right now (munch, munch) I'm sitting at a kitchen table, pecking away on a laptop. Karen is making 6 dozen chocolate chunk peanut butter cookies for a Senior Center lunch on Wednesday. (There ain't gonna be any 6 dozen left if I don't keep my left hand off the cooling tray............)

Stella is served in the snazzy glass.

Otherwise its a safe choice in unfamiliar places and expensive for what it is.

I will have to go with a nice traditional ravioli/lasagna meal with all the fixings. By that I mean, garlic bread, cheeses and a bottle of red wine. Although I would never turn down a well-cooked steak with restaurant fries and coke.............

You would have been delirious: I lived in Naples for 3 years - Navy staff duty. Never had a bad meal.

I think you meant "regardless". "Irregardless" doesn't mean what you think it means.
