My favorite was Magnum's Ferrari 308 GT (I think some of the later shows had a GTSi)

And, the "Miami Vice" 'Testarossa' was actually a Vette re-bodied for the show (as a Ferrari).

I stand corrected; the first, cars used, the Ferrari Daytona was the Vette. The Testarossas' were real. Sorry for any confusion.

Yep, I think I'll stick to my domestic cars.
Of course. We don't buy German luxury/sports cars for cheap maintenance. We buy them because they are excellent cars that we love driving. I would not recommend you buy a 928 much like I told you that you shouldn't buy an S320. The ecm for a 928 used on Ebay goes for about $250 and installation is easy FYI. The other part of owning cars like this is that you have to know where to source parts on the cheap and do the work yourself or find someone cheap.

I was about to say... the Daytona lent itself easily to that transformation, the Testarossa not so much.

Also, the Testarossa's factory color was *not* white. It was repainted white to pop better on film.

Sure, but it was an ugly turd early on. The car didn't really emerge into the public mindset until well into the 1980s, and so many elements of the design just happen to scream '80s. It was ahead of its time in the 70s.

Here is the perfect Countach: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0QQ...KQ3aMEWAXQ3aIT . Ironically, it isn't even a Countach.

    Countach... oh god.

Pardon me, I must go change my shorts. It didn't even need to be orange (but it would certainly not hurt it any....)
