Speaking of Porsche 928's, I was at a client today, an independent repair shop that specializes in German cars. He had 1987 928 S4 in because it had a faulty PCM. To get a rebuilt PCM, the customer was looking at $2100 + installation.

Yep, I think I'll stick to my domestic cars.

Clean, rust free examples are appreciating in value. Something NICE will run you between 5-10k now days.

They are built ridiculously well, too. I remember the episode of Top Gear UK in which they took a ('90 I believe) Toyota pick up and dropped a wrecking ball in the bed, rolled it off of a cliff, dumped it in the ocean overnight and it still ran. (After drying it out, of course. Lol)

That is one of my favorite episodes. They still have that Toyota truck on display on their studio set. Toyota trucks of that era and into the 90's were so stupidly simple and extremely well engineered. The one I own was neglected, abused, wrecked, and didn't run for five or six years when it was used as a storage shed. I absolutely love it though, because even though it looks like a POS, its a joy to drive, it just runs so smooth and drives so tight. Doesn't squeak or rattle either.

That was back when Toyotas actually stopped when you hit the brakes.
