    The first year for second generation Camaro gets my vote. I too prefer the the Firebirds over thew Camaro for second generation cars, with the 1978 Firebird my pick for the best of the lot.

    I dont know how the second-gen Camaros were to drive, but my not-so-fond childhood memories of those cars are from growing up in a poor neighborhood. We had some trashy neighbors who would put them on cinderblocks next to their houses, hoping to save up for repairs while they spent their money on beer and weed instead.


    These days, you can find nice third-gen Trans Ams being driven around upscale suburbs by their enthusiastic older owners. I see one just like this fairly frequently:

    A friend's little brother has a MINT, low mileage '92 Camaro RS coupe. Black/charcoal interior, 305 TBI and four speed automatic. Not the fastest thing out there, but it's fun to take the t-tops off and cruise around in.

    You would have gotten laid more in the Formula. Faster isn't synonymous with good looking.

    Those are my all time favorite wheels for that body style. That car that lived near us way back when was a beautiful white convertible with THOSE wheels.

    The only Firebird/Camaro of that gen, that I have any interest in at all is a Trans Am GTA, with those gold wheels....
