as much as i hated the amount of crap Clarkson talked about the XLR i couldnt pull myself away from the video. The guy is just good. He has a way of talking that professional enough yet still sounds like a car guy. (the XLR being in the video helped alot)

I finally gave in and became a fan on the episode where they come to the US and he drives the "Zet"R1. He talks crap the whole time, but at the same time praises the ZR1 almost endlessly. He voices the exact same sentiments corvette owners and fans themselves have about vettes. The materials and build quality arent much to brag about, but the looks and raw functionality are nothing short of exhilarating

They totally botched the start on the Ferrari, just saying.

id correct it but ill probably never type it out again.

that video was awesome. Maybe the ferrari didnt launch right, maybe the V just got him on the jump

To me it looks like they tried to hide it with the camera angle. Why not show both cars from an equal perspective?

yeah it looks like the ferarri gave the v a head start by a hood-length but it doesn't look like a mis-launch (the V would have really toasted it then)

Re: CTS-V Wagon vs Ferrari California

Analyze the hell outta the video, and youre still left with a Wagon beating a sports car almost 4 times its price. The brands are irrelevant. Even if they bogged the California's start a little, it still should have caught up. DCT, launch control, F1 derived V8, brand with badge steeping in racing history....2nd.
A few inaccuracies about the video...Its not really an engine from the ZR1, its closer to a supercharged LS3...Also, he was driving the manual, so the top speed was 191, not 175.

I saw this episode the other night and was surprised their "Stig" ran a faster lap in the wagon than he ran in the coupe. WTF?
The above post is my 2 cents....nothing more.

couple tenths of a second ... could have been driver error (or shift differences ... whatever you want to call it)
... or the extra weight of the vagon actually helps it a bit

and good find brandon... i looked initially after it aired on sunday (or whenever) but figured they would take down any clips... this one seems to be staying up a good bit of time

i'm really glad they didn't make us wait until the end of the season for this episode (they tease it in each intro with the v driving thru that pyro setup)

Re: CTS-V Wagon vs Ferrari California

The V got off the line first, but the ferrari appears to have lost a bit of ground to the V wagon by the time it crossed the finish line.

nothing better than beating a ferrari in a wagon
