Someone needs to get on and post the pictures taken from dinner, and of the group as a whole!! I'd post that picture that JD's uncle took of us at JD's tree on Saturday night, but I can't copy the link from facebook anymore since they went to the new picture format.

The Mercedes display wasn't bad. The E550 convertible is kinda sharp.

The SLS is still gorgeous. Especially in red.

I forgot what they call it, but this Infiniti concept car is gorgeous too.

Hyundai had a concept car too. It's called the CURB. Anyone else think it looks like the Isuzu VehiCROSS?

The new Genesis R-spec 5.0. An already good looking and impressive car with more oomph. Yes please.

    The Volt

The new Chevy Sonic. Aveo rebadge.

Porsche Cayman R. I like this green.

The Fiat 500 is a neat little car. I'm sure it's excellent for running around in town in big cities. The best part about looking at this car was they guy that Jesda proved wrong. Some random guy was looking at it and was complaining that the back seats didn't fold flat because he couldn't get them to. Jesda was like, yeah they do *fold*. Then the guy got smart and started saying, "Well if I had one I would just take the back seats out completely anyway. But I only buy cars that have a racing pedigree." What a tool.

It has some pretty neat touches, though.

Re: Chicago 2011 Meet Thread. Pics Included.

Chad liked the Ram Power Wagon.

It really is a big ass truck.

Sadly, the thing I think I was most impressed with was the Kia Optima. I really like that car. Decked out with EVERYTHING including the turbo version it's only like $28,800 or something. I would pass 10 Toyota and Honda lots to buy this car over a Camry or Accord.

I even like the wheels too. They're kinda funky, but suit the car really well. I have to give it to Kia, this is a hellava car.

The poor GT-R. I think Godzilla is loosing some of it's allure. This pic wasn't taken during a brief lull in traffic, there was just no one paying any attention to it.

Bout the only thing that caught my eye at the BMW display is the new 6 series.

I like this pic. It looks like the QX56 is about to eat an asian chick.

Yeah, I'm waiting for someone to post the pics from dinner too. Did anyone other than JD's dad take any? He took the group pic at the show too didn't he?

Re: Chicago 2011 Meet Thread. Pics Included.

Sunday morning before those of us that were left went to lunch I got the chance to get a pic with Marvin's XLR-V.

That thing is SICK. Thank you again Marvin for the opportunity to drive it. That's not something I will forget any time soon.

Myself, Josiah, Marvin, Gary, Jason, Jesda, and Mike were the only ones able to stay for lunch Sunday. We all went to Portillo's to get something to eat before we all hit the road.

Portillo's is a cool place. Very distinctive design inside.

It was actually daylight when I went back through so I tried to get some shots of the windmill farm on I-65. It's freaky to come through there at night and have no idea what you're driving into.

I really liked the looks of the Lexus "Thinga majig" concept car, nice until you got to the rear side window which in true Japanese fashion looked too "contrived" and wrecked an otherwise interesting design.

As you guys say, whatta "TOOL," the guy Jesda encountered at the FIAT 500 stand! Poor ignorant bastard doesn't realize that Fiat has quite a "racing history" not to mention that such makes as Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Maserati, not to mention Lancia (Stratos) all come under the FIAT Corporate umbrella. And of course Porsche has nothing to do with Volkswagen!

Did Fiat leave the Booty Twins at home for this show?

Sorry to have jinxed you! Hope the rest of your trip home was uneventful and that you weren't hurt in your driving misadventure.

Also glad to see Josiah made it up. He's a fun guy to hang out with.

Must correct... This is a shot of Soldier Field - home of the Chicago Bears. The columns are part of the original structure (a war memorial), and use to be its highest point. Then an alien spaceship crash landed into the place and Mayor Daley converted the remnants into high-rent skyboxes to line the pockets of Bears ownership.

Located very nearby is McCormick Place, a multi-building facility offering 2.6 Million square feet of exhibit hall space.

The flattop/aircraft carrier looking building on the left is the original and main exhibit hall. I believe that's where the Auto Show was held.

I agree with Austin, of everything previewed, I think the most revolutionary changed or new cars are the Fiat and the Kia Optima. The new Cadillac color is nice too.

Sub, it would definitely be cool if you could make it next year! I was just talking to Jesda about that the other night.
