I found out that my car was in fact NOT a time machine.

The skirts really make that generation of Deville look great. Nice work with the brackets Luke.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Took the Accord on it's first road trip, up to a friend's cabin in Northern WI. I got 35MPG average (including a few spirited runs up to 100) and I saw a high of 40.6 mpg on 60 mph 2 lane highways. Damn, that's nice. It's EPA rated at 27/36.

I'm really starting to like the I-4/CVT combination in this thing. It's extremely smooth, so much so that it's easy to speed in it. You don't feel it ever shift gears, so when you've cooking with 1/3-1/2 throttle, it'll just keep winding that little engine up until you look down and see you're doing 80-100 mph. Honda's four cylinders are so quiet and so smooth that you don't hear or feel it until you're cresting the 4500 rpm mark.

I did an 80-100mph WOT and I'd think that it will keep right up with the Marauder. It's surprisingly quick, especially at higher speeds. The 0-60 time is like 7.5 seconds or so.

    Repainted my ATS.

The one in my Avatar that is. When I joined I just grabbed a pic I liked and cropped it the way I wanted. That picture happened to be a Thunder Gray.

Today, I finally Photoshopped it to Champagne (or Silver Coast as Cadillac calls it for some bizarre reason) to match the real one.

Headlight covers from a friend. I really like how these look on the front of the car....

Still think the nose needs to be an inch or two lower...

Re: What did you do to your car today?

You guys are all so creative I don't where to start! I'm sure I'll miss someone.

Luke, they not only look great but very good inventing on the mounts!

Roo, is the digital speedo new? I love it either way, and the covers were sorely needed with the paint. Very sharp!

Chad, "slumming it" in Wisconsin eh?

Rob, "What did you do to your car today?".....you're doing it wrong.....

    Orconn, great snark!(As expected.)

Hoosier Daddy, great idea! I love it!

Me...another coat of slightly different color on my fillers. Rained Sat, so Guido gets "fillered" tomorrow with luck, if I can ditch work early!

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Dave - that project took many many man hours to complete. It's not a direct swap. I basically had to study the service manual to build a custom harness adapter from scrap wire and donor plugs from a police car. I could have cut my harness and hard-wired the cluster in, but then I thought... what if it dies? The digital ones are a lot harder to find than the run of the mill analog cluster (seen here: https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n..._4204557_o.jpg) I even still had a bench seat in that photo... god that's old. August 7, 2011.

Today, there are bucket seats from a Bonneville, a Blazer console, and that's soon to be replaced with a floor shifter and a Buick Riviera console.

Here you can see some of the soldering, and pondering over the big fat FSM: https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...17145649_o.jpg

I don't have any photos of the whole console, oddly enough. I also had to replace the oil pressure switch with a sending unit, but because of my headers, the sending unit was too large, so I got creative and made an elbow to mount it away from the block a bit. This makes it somewhat inaccurate, though. Kind of annoying. Maybe someday I'll get other headers and screw it into the block like it's meant to be. For now, though, I know the gauge works.

Here's another photo (not mine) of the 9c1 cluster: http://i45.servimg.com/u/f45/16/05/31/00/tbi_9c11.jpg

    Phew. That was long. lol

Luke, if skirt mounts for those are a common problem, you should post a how to in the forum for that car. Or if factory replacements are impossible to get or expensive, sell them on-line.

I got a call from a fellow that just came to own my 1984 Biarritz Convertible. He found the note I put in it when I sold it Two years ago.

It's a shame that Two years passed as I let my extra set of spanking new, irreplaceable chrome curb rash trim rings for the true spoke wire rims go on ebay. Apparently no one ever saw my note in the glove box to contact me for extra parts after the auction.
