I reattached the front undertray where somebody(nameless) drove up on the parking lot curb. Installed new rear brake rotors and pads. Checked the differential mounting bushings and saw that they were still as good as new. I took note of a very slight rear end oil seepage. I finished up with a trip to the car wash.

    Nice, Koz!

Cleaned up my FILTHY PCV valve. Hardly rattled at first, now it sounds like jingle bells. Also got a new section of hose that connects the tubing from the front bank to the TB. I'm a happy camper

Always park facing west. Then you can blame it on the Earth over rotating.

Visited a local CF member yesterday and gave him pointers on fixing his rust on his 79 sedan deville (due to age and partially due to bad galvanizing on the metal). I also gave him my old working symphony sound shaft radio because it has a tape deck instead of his that has nothing. I was repaid in beer (6 pack of schaflys pale ale). Yay!

Still trying to get to Lowes for supplies for the new battery box. That hasn't been working well. I mean, I live like...less-than-a-mile from a Lowes, but I have been working during their hours of operation for the last several days. Tomorrow, I may be able to squeeze it in. If I can purchase the materials, I should be able to build it late in the evening, after an important party I have to get to.

I lead a busy and difficult life. Clearly.

Took the car to my dealer for an oil change today. Was told I need 2 front wheel hubs and a motor mount. Wanted $1200 to do all that... No thanks. ACDelco hubs are $75 apiece clearance on Rock Auto and I still have a motor mount in my garage unused from the STS. A few hours of work and i will have saved $1000.

    You can do eet!!

I'm getting closer to this Vacuum leak. Cleaned the PCV valve like I said, replaced some tubing, and the lurching has mostly disappeared. Park brake is much more cooperative as well. I'm gonna round up the PCV elbows and grommets to see if that doesn't finish it off

Did you know that these parts needed replacement when you purchased the vehicle or are you being taken for a ride? I thought I remember reading that you put the car through it's paces and it drove beautifully - but somehow 2 bad hubs and a bad motor mount were undetectable?

The car drove fine. There were no noises or anything detectable on the car that make me thing there was a problem. The past few days I have noticed a little extra bump when I put the car in drive and reverse leading me to believe the motor mount broke after I bought the car. The hubs aren't a big deal; the previous service history indicates they were never replaced and with 107k miles that's pretty much standard fare. This is a dealer I worked at for 3 1/2 years and completely trust so thats not even a possibility.

Hubs were $160 shipped and should ship out tomorrow. Motor mount is now back in my room from the garage. Just have to pick a day and get this work done.
