Thanks for all the well wishes guys. I really appreciate it

I figure my odds are pretty good. Applied Friday evening and got a call Monday evening. That's the quickest turnaround since when I applied at Kmart back in 07. For some reason I remember that going quite well.

Very good! At least you got a foot in the door. They will hire you I am sure.

I dropped by the mechanic's place in the Brougham. He checked it out and said the switch itself is bad. I kind of noticed it was fairly loose. He ordered the switch and we'll get to it tomorrow or the next day. I am also getting him to install a new oxygen sensor and a few other things while he is at it.

I have an interview with the DM tomorrow afternoon, and the SM was filling me in on normal operations, dress code, etc. I see good things happening tomorrow afternoon.

    Thanks again guys

Glad you got the Brougham looked at. Doesn't sound too terrible bad

As I said before, you're hired!

Oh it isn't bad and I could likely have fixed that myself but I have a few other things I was going to do as well that I can now stiff him with all at once.
I also forgot to mention that when I pulled up there were four cadillacs from different eras out in front waiting for service. It looked like a Cadillac service department and I told him so. He said they get a lot of people who bring them Cadillacs to work on after the warranty expires. There was an interesting 79 Seville out in front but the paint on the hood and back door was trashed.

Short notice car show. Pre- Super Chevy show parking lot party.

Since I'm racing autocross this year, they want me to work the show 21-23 June in their autocross area. The organizer remembered me from last year and wants Elwood in the car show. As an incentive they're letting me take a few laps on the road course and run the autocross all day, any day there's a break in the Super Chevy competition at Gateway.

What are DM and SM? Some sort of secret codes in your new job?

Kidding aside, congratulation! Hope you enjoy your new job, and it helps you out in this portion of your life.... There is no need to say that you deserve much more than this, and I am pretty sure that you yourself will earn your way up!

I'd assume District Manager and Store Manager. Cool, Luke.

As for me, today? I was GOING to wash it. I bought some new product called RatWax that's supposed to be just for matte/satin finish paint (http://www.ratwax.net/), but it looked like it was going to rain all day, so I decided against it.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

I drove the Marauder to work yesterday, where it was unexpectedly rained on all day. Damn it, gonna have to wash & hand dry the car on Friday. It has not seen rain in over a month.
