    I found out yesterday that the driver's side window won't roll up so it looks like it is going to go in the shop tomorrow. I don't tear apart door panels. Too much of a pain. Let them do it.

    Take it to a good one. A shop that's not familiar with or won't read the manual, can do as much or more damage than you.

    They already did the back door lock actuator for me so this is just one more door panel. My fear is that they will be going out one by one over the course of a few months.

    Did they show you what is failing and how? It might be a clue.

    The actuator just stopped opening the back door lock on the passenger side. It was just the actuator being worn out. After 25 years these things wear out eventually.
