For the track, I'll still use a breaker bar and torque wrench but the impact wrench to do the rest.

DeWalt and Bosch both have high torque monsters that can probably do everything you'd ever need.

The bigger ones are in the $2-300 range. My Craftsman was about $100 at Sears...

Another good day of CPO coverage.

Dealer replaced a headlamp and turn signal, no charge.

Drove 2011 CTS loaner. um. not impressed. 6 cyl was jerky. sport mode gear changes were stooopid, holding RPMs over 5000 while coasting for whole city block?!?!.

Guess I'm just spoiled by my STS and it's much more elegant displays and control layouts.

Remember you are used to the bigger STS with a smoother V8. Myself, I prefer the feedback from the CTS over the isolated cabin of the STS.
But I agree the sport mode is worthless.

So when you coming over to show me the obd?

Filled the Explorer on the way home from work. $57 with regular at $3.59 a gallon. That tank averaged just a hair over 15mpg.

Yeah so... I want air tools now. Badly.

The right side shock, I did by hand. Fought that damn bolt for 3 hours (terrible placement, GM. Thanks for that....), Driver's side? 20 minutes, tops. Probably less I wasn't even checking I was too happy to be out of the damn sun.

Yeah, ours isn't anything serious. Just a small 12.5 gallon unit that's on wheels. Works well for occasional stuff.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

I have a tiny compressor. I don't know the gallons, it's about 12" dia, 30" long maybe. It works just fine for removing lug nuts. When tightening, I use the lowest setting to snug them, and final torque by hand.

It held 15.84 gallons with the gage showing between an eighth and a quarter. It has a 21 gallon tank. Mom drove it to Rome today, so that was about a 120 mile round trip with it being mostly interstate and open road. I should go fill it back up and see what it got. I'm kinda afraid to know though. I saw online last night that it was rated at 14/18 when new. If it got 18 on the interstate I'll be shocked.
