Not driving it a whole lot. Keeping miles off by driving the ION. Plus after driving the ion for a week or so, then getting in, and driving the STS, it's like heaven. Feels like a brand new car again.

Tomorrow, though, I'll be tearing the tranny outa my jeep on my buddies farm. Maybe replacing a wheel cylinder as well. Getting it ready for a trail ride in a couple weeks. But right now the slave cylinder is junk so It keeps losing its clutch pressure/fluid. And of course jeep had to make them with a internal slave.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

I Sold my Garmin GPS back to Amazon this week and used that cash to buy a AutoGeek Sediment & Water softener filter kit so that I do not have to deal with hard water spots on my CTS.
Just in time for the Spring Pollen

The Mr. clean kit worked pretty good but they give you a sample filter in the kit that is only good for 3 spot free rinses, It has lasted longer than that but the replacement filter for 20 rinses is almost $30 so I might as well just buy a more expensive permanent filter kit.

It sounds like you are talking about this: http://www.autogeek.net/defisy.html or http://www.autogeek.net/totalfilterkit.html. I hope you post a review later. After good luck with Mr. Clean, I bought this: http://www.autogeek.net/cr-spotless-...ystem-300.html (at Costco) a few years ago, but it was a dud and I returned it. I got spots despite the meter reading 000 so I switched to http://www.amazon.com/Air-Force-Mast...dp/B005B2CXJS/ to eliminate touching the paint while drying. That filter system looks like it might be a better way to go.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Picked up my car and it still makes the noise. They gave me a service bulletin that says ticking is normal for the DI. I listened to three other DI engines and couldn't hear the same noise but alas no change. They replaced the nav but it still doesn't work and they cited an outdated nav disc and gave me another bulletin that tells how to order a new one from GM.

After nearly a week in the XTS I was happy to get the STS back...even if it does tick like a 200k four-banger.

Snoope around the top end today. All my plugs are routed right, just thought I'd share that. No vacuum leaks I could find. Time to dig out the FSM and see what vacuum lines lead to the parking brake, and where they are.

If the uncooperative shipping vendors in Ostego, Michigan, keep up their antics, we may have to arrange a Owners meet this summer so I can obtain my automotive goodies from Matt. Poor guy has to go through hell and high water to get me my stuff!

Thank you for your persistence Matt

I bought the single stage kit with one canister 1 sediment & 1 softener filter, adapters, hose, Sodium tablets, ect of amazon for $80 something.
I only plan on using the softener filter cartridge for spots.

Prior to buying the kit I had my b.f. price out the components in lowes and home depot, The Canister with no mounting bracket was $56, The filters $17-20 each, I forget how much the 3/4 to 5/8 adapters was but 2 would be needed.
No reusable filters and no sodium tablets available.

I will still be using the Mr. Clean sprayer with it because I like some of the functions with it.

When I am in a hurry to dry my cars I just use a leaf blower, or my 2 gallon shop vac has a blower function.

I could probably come up with some sort of review for it

Yesterday I went to the Muscle Car Cruise at our local carshow location. Didn't make it home until around seven AM, which is typical of my group. Haven't put a car in the show/cruise out there in a bit.

I also met FoxRodder from the RWD section. I never forget a car and recognized his Mustang right away and he spotted my car too. After the cruise, which happens basically last, we got to chat a bit before heading off to more trouble.

I bought the Marauder one year ago today. I'd love to take it out for some celebratory drive, but it snowed yesterday and the roads are covered in salt.

    ^I LOVE your Touring Coupe!

As for me, I took my Challenger out to Schoolcraft to visit one of my old college professors. I'm pretty good friends with him, and it's been a few months since we last chatted. Took a few beers out there and we caught up for a few hours. That was fun!

wire wheeled and primed 3 of my 4 doors. the drivers door was getting crusty again

still got some more random rust to tackle

My body guy is seeing if he had any paint left over from my fillers so I can paint over the primer....if not, I'll get a fairly close color in a spray can and spray can it
