Re: What did you do to your car today?

Called my mechanic to see how things are progressing on tracking down Betty's short. Thought he had it, but it's still there, one of them at least. Considering the wiring mess he found under the dash, I'm surprised anything worked at all. That all the electrical parts worked — all the lights, the HVAC blower, the lighter, even the clock — must be a minor miracle.

He said five cars were towed in today, and since Betty is not my only car, he'll work on her for a while, then go to one of the other cars (I think the shop has three mechanics total). I'm fine with that. I'd like to get the problem solved and get her back, but I realize some people need their cars back sooner.

Honestly, I don't have a clue. I never figured it out myself. I liked the van itself, but I didn't care for driving it so I never investigated it that closely.

    Sold my 91 Brougham.

It went to a good home though, some gay guy with a lot of disposable income bought it. He's a Cadillac/LaSalle club member and has like 5 or 6 other Cadddys.

Now I'm looking for a 94-96 Fleetwood Brougham. I had been thinking long and hard about a Lexus LS400, but they just don't have the swagger of a big Cadillac.

Also, i LOVE wagons too, im ashamed to admit that im too scared to actually buy one though.

My friend used to have a Buick Regal wagon, yellow, all factory. It was awesome, got him laid a few times just for being a yellow wagon in a sea of civics accords and eclipses

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Took it to a local $5 car wash and got it done... looks great. Vacuumed out the interior and wiped down the leather and got everything looking quite spiffy. Just hit 103k miles the other day and other than that pesky A/C line a few weeks ago, everything is going quite nicely. However, if this car keeps acting up I'm going to drive it off a cliff... then I'll go out and buy another one.

    It's a disease dammit.

I didn't even get to see it in person. Damn I wish I was able to buy that thing.

OffThaHorse: that's EXACTLY what I'm doing. What did you do to keep your IAT sensor in the back of the Caddy TBI hat?

My engine bay is easier to access than that though, headers REALLY open up a lot of space under the hood.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

mine actually ended up fitting pretty snugly without modification. others ended up having to glue it on or use silicon sealant with it. theres one more hole that needs to be closed up, i used a sensor pin from one of the anitheft sensors from clothing store (i used to work at one)

    silicone sealed around it
