Started staining my console. I really like the color I picked. It's very close to the factory wood color.
I also swung by my mechanics and paid for the drivetrain swap. I got to fire up the hooptielac. Loud is a serious understatement. It sounds like a dragster. After about 20 seconds of being inside, you'll have a headache. And the interior smells bad (well, it smells like exhaust fumes). Tomorrow, I will be scheduling an appointment to get the crossmember issue taken care of.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Lost out on a set of motor mounts, due to not having internet yesterday. Lame.

Back to the drawing board. Trying to contact a member from the RWD section about some.

    What did I do today?

    The deed is done.

Since then I have been touring around on another ride of my own, which has a total of one Horsepower. Heading back to Clermont sometime this evening.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

went to the shop today to have them chekc out the cradle decided i wanted it looked at today and not tomorrow so they had time
they checked it out said it was the control arm that was bend and that may also be the reason the strut sounded like it was bad also

whyll they where doing the LCA they also noticed the axle that another shop just did a month back wasn't even in all the way they went to take it out and put it back in and the bearings all came loose i guess so now tires plus is paying for a tow truck to pick it up from the shop its at now and take it back to there place do the job properly this time

and they are also crediting my account 250 dollars

    more console pics

    and firing up the 350
note: crank the volume if you want the real experienced
I highly recommend turning down your volume though, as the car is incredibly loud. I imagine it's what a dragster sounds like.
sorry my hand kept getting in the way, but I'm left handed

Thirsty Thursday - put in a half tank of Shell 93 ($3.90/gal), went over to Caroline County and drove the flying snot out of the car. Made it to 126 on the old airport, did some twisties, came back, topped off again and back in the garage. Used detail spray to clean off the bumper bugs.

This is in Dunnellon, so quite possibly. When the other rear end is switched back on and the big tyres are on again, it will not take much to erase them. This has not been done in three years. My Father was a nut and kept an assortment of "spare" parts that were switched on and off depending on what he was doing with any of his cars, in this case, it had some track parts and some street parts, most of which made it down to Florida roughly a year after we moved (even if the car was still in PA). I even recall both station wagons up north had ten wheels each. Five wheels with regular tyres and five with snow tyres.

    Bought $14 worth of urine-gone.

I think this stuff might actually work, I've soaked the rear seat in it.

I will only buy ceramic brake pads in the future. Far less brake dust, and they have a nice bite, which comes in handy in an autocross.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

put on the second coat of stain. I am not impressed with the polyshades. It likes to run, and the first coat dried very splotchy and left a rough finish. I don't recall nearly this much of a problem with it back in 08 when I refinished my electric bass with it (which turned out nice besides a few runs).
I applied the second coat. I may have to sand afterwards, and then use a poly over it, because it sure isn't very glossy.
I may return it to the store (home depot takes back anything) and get some zar from dave.

Timed the LeSabre's 0-60 time......9.2 seconds....not bad considering the age and the 151k miles on it. Looking at road test archives, that's what it did brand new as well.

Not bad...my dads fwd 91 cutlass wagon did 0-60 in 8.5 seconds or so if it hooked up (raced against a non ecoboost lincoln mkz and it was neck and neck up to about 55 or so). But the 3300 did have bigger injectors in it (really woke it up).

    $3.90 for 93? Awesome. I paid $4.15 for 87 yesterday...
Got the new brakes installed today. Huge difference. They were pretty worn.
