I know that era of Roadmaster was a problematic car, but he never had a single issue with it.
Other than a wheel cylinder that started leaking and had to be replaced, this one has been solid. Bought it September 3rd of last year and have put 10k on it.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

I have a problem. i cant leave anything alone. as soon as i get some kind of gadget, i take it apart not even considering i might f it up. Alot of times if i got it free or cheap, i kill the value of the deal by screwing the damn thing up anyway.

This weekend i bought an AutoPage C3 RS1000 alarm/remote start. Its an older system (2007?) but its got alot of features, as a matter of fact i cant think of what more features youd want. I can even control it from my Blackberry if i buy a subscription.

Being an old unit the fobs are kinda chipped. They used a paint color on it i can only describe as bronze and it has wore down in some place to the white-ish plastic. naturally i took it apart, and i have part of it sanded down already

Im going to buy an airbrush kit that i've been wanting for a long time anyway, and im going to repaint the fob satin black

I also built a resistor pack for the remote start. it'll be activated by a relay so VATS will not be permanently bypassed. The resistor pack matched my "main" key 99%. even my secondary key wasnt that close of a match

Isn't Skyline 350GT just the Japanese name of the G35?

A few weeks ago, the starter began to hiccup every now and then. Solenoid click, but no motor spinning. Today I removed the starter and opened it up to find the brushes nearly worn down to their holders. Replaced the brushes for $1.05 and all is good. MUCH cheaper than a new starter

Re: What did you do to your car today?

I didn't actually do anything to our car yesterday but I did remove a post it note from the trunk that read "If Caddy is for sale, call 574-xxx-xxxx." The old girl may not be cherry but I like knowing there's someone out there that appreciates her.

I did receive my quarter panel extensions Thursday and hope to install them in the next few days. I have a socket set but no deep wells or wrenches that are the right size to loosen the bumper. Most of my tools are geared towards woodworking but my stepdaughter's husband has a pretty nice collection of mechanic's tools and I figure it might be a two person job anyway.

As an aside, I think I may name her Lois, after my mother who passed away early last year.

Re: What did you do to your car today?

Yesterday, I was talking to a friend of mine, and somehow we got on the subject of my chalkboard hood. Sadly, it hasn't worked as well as I had hoped (it cracked and peeled, likely from lack of proper prep, but that's another story). So he was like, "Why not use Plasti Dip?" I was skeptical at best, but I had a $15 Lowe's gift card, and a lot of free time. So I bought two cans and went a-sprayin'.

Holy shit. It's a 100% improvement. It looks really really good. I did just the hood and grille. The best part, is that it really doesn't require any prep other than washing the dirt off the car. It's not paint - it's rubber. It also requires no taping off of surfaces. It RUBS RIGHT OFF EVEN WHEN DRY. I'm amazed. I got a lot of overspray on my passenger side headlight, and on the tops of the fenders, and all I had to do was rub it with my hand and it was GONE.

Pics to come, before and after. I'm in love. I'll probably do my mirrors today, and also considering it as a great alternative way to black out the chrome around the windows.

Oh, and yes - it's satin black. Deal with it.
